Beta of 50 at 14 days past IUI

Wondering if anyone has any positive stories of healthy pregnancies starting out w/ low betas?

I am 39 and this is our second round of IUI with Clomid + Ovidrel. I had a chemical pregnancy the first time with low betas from the get-go. Higher this time but still low from all data I can find (50 at 14 days past IUI) so feeling some anxiety and fear of a second chemical pregnancy. Taking progesterone and levels good at 24.

Will go back is 48 hours to see if beta doubles, which is most important data point, of course.

I have seen a good number of low betas end up with healthy outside babies. I think it's especially common with IUIs. If I recall correctly, @pblge had a pretty low beta starting out? The first few weeks are always the most stressful - we can all relate to having a ton of anxiety for several weeks after that BFP. Do you go back Wednesday? Good luck!

Tentative congratulations to you! @gsancho is right--my first beta was a 24. I cried for two days, certain it was a CP. The next one was 99, it just increased after that, and now I'm in my third tri. There actually were two gestational sacs at the first scan! It's scary when they're that low, I know, and the nurse did warn me that it could go either way. With my last miscarriage, my first beta was 650, so now I am a firm believer in the idea that the actual levels don't matter. Different pregnancies just have differing levels for whatever weird reason.

I did! I had a beta of 30 at 13dpo and went back on day 15 and it had gone up to 103. T&P for you during the next 48 hours. I know it's tough, but try not to worry too much!

That's within normal range.

With this pregnancy, mine was:
15 dpo: 26
16 dpo: 45
17 dpo: 78
29 dpo: 8870

So you are doing better than I was! FX for good doubling!

Me!! Not only did I start out w a low beta, it didn't even double by 60% by second draw, we thought it was over and then third, fourth, etc draws all doubled normally. Best of luck!

Mine was 54 @ 13dpiui - All that matters is if it doubles in 48hrs, Don't stress too much (easier said then done)...

I go back tomorrow AM for second draw. Will keep folks posted.

I don't really feel any pregnancy symptoms -- too early for that -- also exhausted and kinda gassy but think that could be related to the progesterone.

It has to start somewhere! That's a strong positive, and all that matters is the steady rise.

Mine started low and I'm 17 weeks now :-)

11DPO= 12

15DPO= 103

22DPO= 1,746

Thanks will report back when I know more. Median for the day they did the beta -- using beta base data -- is 85 so that leads to the anxiety plus chemical pregnant last month and being 39. We just got married in August and have been working on this since the spring and really, really hope for two . . . Never imagined the complexity and anxiety associated with all of this.

Just know a 50 is not chemical, it's clinically pregnant, most say anything over 25 initially is legit. It doesn't mean something can't happen, but the number itself is no cause for concern. Today your are pregnant. Congrats! Take a deep breath and report back tomorrow :-)

Today's beta 130! Happy -- still cautiously so given last month's chemical pregnancy, my age, etc. but this is good news. Cancelled appointment with RE that I had made for Friday as OB agrees not necessary for now. Will do one more beta on Friday as then away for a week for work . . . Trying to remain calm. Thanks all.

Anyone have good luck with acupuncture to support early pregnancy? Trying it out for the first time today . . . I know there's some good research on it re: fertility but not sure if there's solid evidence on how it impacts early pregnancy.

Beta of 268 today! I am thrilled! Today is officially 17 days past ovulation.

When can I start to relax a little bit? Not until ultrasound at 6/7 weeks?

Congratulations!

Unfortunately, the anxiety doesn't stop for most of us that dealt with IF. A few ladies can be optimistic right away, but you aren't alone if you still have plenty of freak out moments. At least the anxiety lessens and gets more manageable over time, I think.

I calmed down some after each ultrasound, then I got a doppler which helped me calm down more after week 10 or 11 (when I could regularly pick up the heartbeat), then more when I hit 2nd tri. Then as you hit more milestones, like feeling movement and reaching V-Day, you'll find yourself getting more and more excited without the negative thoughts creeping in.

How early were they able to pick up a heart beat on an ultrasound for you all?

Great rising betas! Congratulations! I didn't breathe easier, in all honesty, till I started feeling Dd move around. I did do acupuncture until I was about 8 weeks pregnant with DD and till I was 6 weeks with this pregnancy.

Yay! Glad to hear things are going well. Sorry this is late, but I thought I would add that I'm now 13 weeks and my first beta was 11.2.

With transvaginal u/s my RE was able to pick up a heartbeat at 7 weeks. We couldn't hear it yet but we could see it, we could hear it at 9 weeks.

We could see it at 7 weeks. Some people see at 6 weeks. I picked it up on the doppler at around 11 weeks.

So glad to see your beta going up. I agree with PP, for many of us IF brain continues to haunt us! My OB said to me on Friday 'you are in the clear' regarding my miscarriage concerns since I had a prior loss...and I looked at her and thought 'let's not count our chickens just yet, ok?' Seriously - I think I will only feel that I am in the clear when I am holding two healthy babies in my arms.

Beta today at 1,223 (20 days past ovulation). I am so happy and relieved! Sonogram scheduled for next Tuesday. Very hopeful we might see something, think that would be a turning point on anxiety!
