Re-Intro!

I haven't been as active as I once was, so for all the new faces (and for those who vaguely recall us), I would like to give a quick re-intro!
My daughter, Adalyn, was born at 26w 2 days in February of 2012. She was 1 pound 12 ounces and was 12 inches long. I was on hospital bedrest for 24 days before she was born via emergent c-section. On a routine ultrasound at 22w6d we discovered that I had lost a lot of amniotic fluid, and it was determined that I had experienced some sort of tear that then healed itself over. Unfortunately, we were only able to stave off infection for 24 days, and she was born because i had chorioamnioitis.

She spent 83 days in the NICU. While there, she was on a vent for 3 weeks before she transitioned over to CPAP and nasal canula. She came home on oxygen and it wasn't until about she was 6 months old before she was completely off oxygen. She also came home on an apnea monitor and a pulse ox. She had CLD/BPD, ROP, apnea of prematurity, anemia of prematurity. She had 5 blood transfusions, ended up needing to go to an oscillitating vent for a few days before she was finally able to get off the vent, and had pneudomonas pneumonia while on the vent.

She will be turning 3 in a few weeks, and although she is still small for her age and has a speech delay, she is doing great! She loves her riding her scooter, is determined to figure out how to "go fast" on the balance bike, and loves her gymnastics class. It's amazing to me how far she has come. It feels like it was forever ago that we were in the NICU and also like it just happened.

I remember you!!! We were both may 2012 moms! I delivered on 2/24 at 30 weeks. I am so happy to hear an update on her!!

I remember you too! My daughter Noelle was due at the beginning of June 2012. She was born on 4/30/12. We are excited about her 3rd birthday coming up in a couple of months. We are thinking that we will do either Hello Kitty or Disney Princess birthday theme. And of course, she will be dressed like a princess.

My daughter had issues with her ears and needed to get tubes twice. She has been seeing a speech therapist the past years due to her speech delays. And we are still having her evaluated on a monthly basis by the local school district.

This past summer, she said "Mommy" for the first time, and I just cried. I was so proud of her. Right now, her favorite word is "No."

Adalyn also had to get tubes (although thankfully only once) due to chronic ear infections. She also started preschool last year in December (at around 22 months) and had no words--not even momma. Between private speech, EI, and preschool, she has not only words, but phrases and sentences! I can relate to hearing her say "mommy" for the first time.

Glad to see you again! I was also part of May 2012 and delivered on in March at 33 weeks. Glad to hear an update on your little girl
