24 Weeks baby bump

I'm 24 weeks today and I still don't look that big. I just had a friend come over to my desk and was like are you sure you are pregnant. I about about 5'5 and weighed 137 lbs before pregnant and I last weighed myself at 151. I don't feel as though my belly is growing (I dont look like I'm 5 1/2 months pregnant) and also it does not seem round or firm...Is anyone else experiencing this. I feel the baby move around alot, but I just don't feel like I'm getting much bigger.

  • Everyone is different you will "pop" soon enough

  • Right there with ya! I was 145 before got pregnant now weigh around 150 and I do not look 24 weeks along at all! I have people tell me at work they think I'm faking it.
  • I know everyone is different.....Maybe it will just happen overnight, but thats what happened when I first got the little bump in Dec.
  • I literally just POPPED in my 24th week. I got the same comments then BAM I'm huge! it will come!

  • I'm 26 weeks and most people haven't even noticed I'm pregnant (my job involved lots of travelling and I've only told my immediate office). I had to say something today at one place as they were expecting me to lift benches - they were so surprised when I told them about baby.

As long as you're healthy, rock the small look, it'll be uncomfy before long I'm sure!
  • Everyone is different and comparing your size to someone else can be hard on your self esteem. Is your doctor okay with your baby's growth? Are you eating nutritious foods and enough calories (2500-3000 is actually recommended). If you're doing all of those things then don't worry.
  • I really don't think I'm eat 2500 calories a day....Are you all small framed? I go to doctor next week, but my last appointment didn't say anything about weight or the baby's size, so I was guessing it was fine. I will ask next week when I go for my next appointment.
  • If your dr doesn't say thing I wouldn't worry. I'm 26 weeks and hardly look pregnant. We all carry different. I'm happy I'm small and enjoying it before we really start to grow in the 3rd trimester.
  • Grass is always greener...I'm not a big girl but have gained a lot so far and I keep getting when are you due?march? I am not "wearing" this baby in a very flattering way. Don't worry, I didn't show withy first until 3rd tri

The actual recommendation is 300 calories above your suggested calorie intake. Most people will be around 1800 calories per day pre pregnancy, less if they are trying to lose weight. Women who think they should be eating double...the whole "eating for two" idea are going to end up with a whole lot more weight to lose and well above the recommended 25-35 lbs for weight gain. For me it's hard not to want to eat everything, I am constantly hungry!
  • I think I'd prefer to hear "are you sure you're pregnant" than the "are you due in February" that I keep getting...
  • Yea! Every time I tell someone I am due in May I get "wow you have a while to go...." Or " gosh you are so big!" Really! Thanks I hadn't noticed!!!

  • I am 32 and 5'1 and started at 105. I have only gained 8 lbs. I work retail and I haven't had one person ask if I am pregnant also my dr even says 'you don't look pregnant but you are!' He said that this is about the time the lbs start to arrive and with my other two kiddos I gain around 50 lbs. every pregnancy is different and if the dr says you and the baby are okay...don't worry about it.
  • I feel like I'm already 7-8 months! But not quite as big. I definatly have popped but this is my third so it definatly happens earlier with each baby. My hip and low back are saying I'm much further though!
  • I'm 25 weeks and just really started to pop in the last week or so. I'm 5'3 and atarying weight was 201lbs and I am now 211 lbs. I was very concerned with whrn I was going to start "looking pregnant" , so I understand and can tell you its comi g

  • There are about eight women at my church, all of which are due before me, and I've been the biggest one the whole time. Count your blessings, gal! I'm pretty sure I started showing with this one immediately upon conception!
  • I popped about 2 weeks ago! I feel huge but everyone keeps saying I look great. I've gained 12lbs so far and try to eat balanced but have a huge sweet tooth:) Enjoy being small, once your belly pops, normal things like shaving your legs or tying your shoes becomes difficult!
  • I am 24 weeks and looking huge. I popped at around 22 weeks, but it was still small. Everyone joked that I looked like I just had a little beer belly. People still keep being surprised that I am so far a long. I am 5'5 and started at 145, I am only up 7 pounds... Last time I checked haha. But my belly is finally growing and it's getting uncomfortable! Enjoy your smallness while you can. You'll be winded and huge in no time!

    Thank youuuuuuuu!

I can't help but get mad at those who aren't showing.
  • This is my second and I'm 24 weeks. I am 5'6 and started out at 135. I've already gained 19 pounds but it is all on my bump! I still wear most of my pre prego jeans ... I guess I'm going to have one big healthy boy :) I wasn't this big with my daughter until about 7 months!

Means you look like you haven't gained anywhere else.  Its a compliment!

I think FTM have an idea of how your supposed to look while pregnant.  Everyone gains differently and shows differently.  I have a friend who has some medical issues and is super thin and will barely look pregnant in her last month or so. As long as your doctor isn't concerned and baby is doing well enjoy however it is you carry :)
