  • I'm sorry I didn't update here yesterday.  Right now it looks like my transfer is going to be canceled.

My lining looked great on Monday, but was just barely over 9mm.  My RE felt confident that we could get it closer to 10mm (their ideal), so we continued delestrogen, vaginal estrace, and the viagra and I was given the option of a recheck on Thursday or just starting progesterone.  We've come this far so I decided on the recheck on Thursday.  I went in for my lining check and my lining hadn't grown at all and maybe was even thinner.  What worried my RE the most was that the appearance of my lining was no longer a good as it was on Monday.  She didn't feel comfortable transferring with my lining looking like it did.  I asked to continue the estrogen for a few more days and be rechecked, but she said that she doesn't think my lining will recover.  I am going in tomorrow for another round of blood work and u/s and we will find out for certain whether or not we need to cancel.

Looking back we should have started Progesterone Monday, but I can understand why she wanted to push me out further.  My lining always got to 10-11mm during my first 3 fresh IVFs and my donor embryo FET, why wouldn't she think that it should be able to get there this time?

  • And we are cancelled again.

My lining is completely breaking down, going from around 9mm Thursday to less than 7mm today.  My RE said that they had several women have this happen this cycle and they were wondering if it was due to a med switch because of the national delestrogen shortage.  I don't think that was my issue since I was using donated meds that were purchased months ago.  Either way she is going to switch me to oral estrogen next cycle, which I responded well to during my donor embryo FET last May.  The bonus is that estrace is covered by my insurance.

The bad part is that the clinic isn't doing a March cycle because of office renovations and painting, so my next cycle isn't until April.  I will have a few things to do before then though, including making an appointment with a hematologist about my chronically high white blood cell count and repeat my SIS again (yay, my 3rd in 6 months!).

This is our 3rd cancelled transfer in 6 cycles, but at least we still have our two frozen blasts.  Now it's just getting my ute in shape!

On another note, do you know what the med change was?  I bought delestrogen for the January cycle (I was cancelled).  So, I have it to use in February (assuming I make it past baseline).  I was worried before that the estrogen wouldn't work for my lining (oral estrace doesn't do anything for me).  But, the thought that others were cancelled because of a med change makes me even more worried!!

@STL34 I am not sure.  In November I had delestrogen brand and this cycle I had some donated generic estradiol valerate (bought last year sometime but not past it's expiration date).  I have no idea what they were switching people to since I didn't have to buy any.

It's kind of hard to imagine that there was some sort of med issue, since many people buy from different pharmacies.  I think it was probably more of a coincidence.

I got an email today that they are changing up my protocol.  Instead of using the delestrogen I purchased, they are doing oral Estrace.  I've done that for suppression before and I've never gotten a thick lining while on it.  I'm going to try to talk to them tomorrow.

    And we are cancelled again.

I'm so sorry, @Twinkie0612.  This sucks so much!  I hope you are able to figure things out and that April is your month!!

@STL34 have you tried vaginal estrace?  They told me that they would do oral estrace and then add vaginal if needed.  When I did oral estrace it was a natural start cycle, no BCPs, no lupron, only estrace and my lining made it over 10mm by CD 13.  I don't think they checked my ovaries though (clinic I was with didn't even do a baseline before starting estrace), so I'm not sure if I was fully suppressed or not.  I'm not sure how I'll respond to lupron and oral estrace.  Vaginal estrace seemed to really help thickness this cycle, my lining just didn't hang on long enough.
