I can't believe it has been 1 year since I last saw them, heard them and held them. Some days it feels like just yesterday; others it feels like it has been longer. Today did not get executed as I thought it would so many months ago. I baked birthday cupcakes, sent a donation to Spark of Life in their names and then worked on getting prints & frames for their pictures. I'm ready to do this now. There were tears throughout the day, but I made it. DH brought me home a house salad from Outback--I craved them so much while pregnant with them! (I think it was the ranch dressing--yum.)
At one point I looked into getting lanterns, but we live near an airport and there is no safe place to launch them without fear of them falling and starting a house fire. (This might be an irrational fear.) So then I was going to get some balloons, but it is cold and snowing and seeing them float up only to fall in our neighbors' yard isn't the picture I had painted.
I've had lots of texts & emails from the most unlikeliest of friends. Others? They might not have remembered, but we sure do...every day. I'm gearing up to post A&B's little feet as my cover photo on FB--this will be the first pic I've shared. Thank you ladies for your wisdom and guidance as I trudged my way through my grieving process--knowing that I was not alone has brought me the most comfort.
