I'm 13 weeks and wondering the same thing. I was hoping to hold out until 16 weeks but I've already had a 5th grader ask if I was pregnant! (I teach first) ...So, my belly might give it away before then. I'm not doing a formal gender reveal/ announcement on social media but I think I'll do cupcakes with my class to reveal the gender.
On the other hand, the sooner I announce maybe the sooner I'll have an excuse not to tire all their little shoes all day!
I'm going to announce on social media when I hit my second trimester. I have several coworkers' kids in my class and I am friends with them on Facebook so I know once I announce it on there my students will find out too. If my coworkers don't tell their kids, I will probably tell them around 20 weeks when I find out the sex and have had my a/s.
Going to see if I can hold out until after February break. I'm twelve weeks now and not showing (anymore than my lunch ) so I am going to hold out as long as I can.
I teach 4th grade and I think some of them already suspect it due to my bloated belly. I plan to tell my kids at 13 weeks when we tell the rest of the world. 2 weeks to go.
I will announce on social media during my second trimester, but I probably won't say anything to my students unless they ask (I teach high school). When are you all telling your administration?

I already told my building principal last week. Once another teacher flat out asked me if I was preggers, I told her. I wanted to make sure she heard it from me and not from someone else.
Im 12 weeks and had a random 1st grader ask me and I told him yes. Then, one of my 3rd graders asked why I got a new car. I told him I was having a baby and needed something bigger. Haha. I don't like to lie to kids. So, I haven't told my students yet but word will probably get around pretty quickly. I teach K-4 and don't feel they need an announcement. They'll figure it out soon enough.

What is this February break you speak of? I want one!
Agh I'm still not sure! I'm 12 weeks Fri. I'm not one for big announcements, and honestly, my 4th graders are so into themselves and I just look like a packed on a few pounds, so I'd like to hold off! I want to tell my sons after the first tri, and one of them is a first grader at my school, so all bets are off after that. I'm friends with lots of families from school on FB, so once it's out, word travels fast. Ideally, I would like to wait until we find out the sex to tell the community, bc for years people have been telling me to "try for a girl" which drives me NUTS. Since I think it's another boy, I figure maybe I can avoid some of the obnoxiousness by saying I'm pregnant AND it's a boy all in one!
Can not WAIT to tell my student teacher though. She prob thinks I'm such a wimp with how low energy I've been. It's been awful being I'm such close quarters with someone 24/7 and hiding the queasiness AND insane hunger.
Friday is a professional development day for us and we always go for lunch on those days so I'll be telling my staff then. As for the kids, I'll probably start dropping hints next week. I've been at this school for 15 years and I have a really great rapport with most of my students...they will be happy and excited to share the news. They were so excited when I got engaged, lol, I can only imagine what this news will bring
I don't have tenure yet so I'm trying to hold out until after tenure meetings to tell administration. I teach 9th grade so if I tell them first my secret will b out in no time. Going to try to hold out and tell everyone after spring break.
I'm 13 weeks and I started telling coworkers today. Some of my students overheard us talking and then found out I'm sure the news will pass around school soon!
Yeah this is tough, I started this job in September and having to tell administration that I will need time off at the beginning of my second year does not make me feel secure at all. I am holding off until I absolutely have to. I have yet to hear my baby's heartbeat yet so I feel very strong about telling no one until I hear my little lime (11 weeks today) heartbeat, after that time we can start telling peeps including schools we are pregnant (note: DH is a teacher also).
I teach 8th grade. Like @AshK1027, I have no plans for formal announcement. If they notice and say something, I'll confirm. This due date does not affect them so I'm not feeling the need to include them in the special news.
I'm an early head start teacher my babies are only 2 so I guess when my bump starts getting bigger I'll have some explaining to do lol I'm 13 weeks 5 days with twins.
I teach high school and I'm waiting until after my 12 week ultrasound before I tell my administration. Which is Tuesday! Then I suppose I'll tell my classes the same week. Although, our secretary has known for weeks! She has been a huge help and it has been awesome having someone at school knowing my secret!
I've been puking during the day so it wasn't that easy to hide. I teach adult ed and have a few other pregnant ladies in my classes. I told them all at 7 weeks. Thankfully I have a bathroom in my classroom.
Now that I've had my NT scan and need to go back bc of some "sticky" (or lack thereof) amniotic sac issues I will def not be telling my kids until I confirm my little plum is OK. It would be devastating to have something happen and then have to tell 118 of my students on top of that.
I'm 13 weeks now. I had my first ultrasound last week at 12 weeks, told friends that day, my principal the next day. I announced to staff that week and was going to later that week or this week tell students (I teach 4-8). I kept getting congratulated by other teachers and had a few students giving me looks that morning, so I told them all that day. I sent a letter to parents too.
I told my students by playing hangman that came out to "Mrs. ____ is going to have a baby." My students were super excited, they want to help name the baby.
I teach preschool and didn't really think about an announcement for the kids. I speak freely with my assistant about it and it seems to go over the kiddies heads. I will tell my boss and the other teachers after 12 weeks but I am not sure if the kids will really understand until I have a big bump.
I teach preschool as well, and have an extremely good relationship with my administrator and co teacher, so I told them after I saw the heart beat, and 7.5 weeks. They were such a wonderful support for me when I had my miscarriage earlier this year, and I knew they would be thrilled. I told my kids when I had 2 girls want to tell the class that their mom's were pregnant too. So maybe 8 or so weeks?

I teach 5th grade and haven't told my students yet (I'm 14 weeks). I feel like it might be a while until I have a visible bump and they start asking questions so I might wait until then but at the same time I do want to tell them soon!! I guess part of me is afraid something will go wrong (miscarried last year) and I don't want to have to explain it to them...
I have been wondering the same thing. I teach 9th graders...I don't think I'm going to tell...they will figure it out. I can't see them really giving a hoot over an "announcement" lol.
I teach high school, so mine will probably just figure it out at some point. With my first, I told my Art Club students first, but I didn't make a big announcement to my general classes. My school is very small, so word spread quickly. This time, I'm not planning to make an announcement at all. They will know soon enough!

One of my preschoolers overheard somebody talking about it either at home or school...and last week told her dad: "Miss --- has a baby in her tummy, but shhh it's a secret!" My coworkers know and my boss is posting out Valentine's Day/announcement card on the bulletin board this week.
I teach high school. I had bad morning sickness and I drive an hour to work. This lead to me running late a lot and I often missed breakfast. But I have second hour plan and often wouldn't be nauseous by then so I'd sneak out and grab breakfast. I also had a very emotional first few months of randomly bursting into tears. Needless to say my students noticed and we're worried about me. They talked to my principal who pulled me aside to ask if everything was okay at home. It was an awkward meeting so I just told her what was going on. And then dropped a few hints to my kids and let them spread the rumor around to everyone. Didn't realize I was distressing people. But what can I say my kids care a lot. They're all very excited. And they often will bring me snacks to make sure I'm eating enough. I'm glad I told them. And since then every pregnant high schooler keeps dropping in for advise, fashion tips, and sometimes just someone to listen. Things got a lot easier with their support. And my boss is fine with me grabbing breakfast anytime I need to during my plan. So that was helpful too.
I am 16 weeks and teach high school. I told a few teacher friends as well as our principal two weeks ago. I won't say anything to my students until I announce on social media around 20 weeks (news will probably travel fast since I am connected with some of my former students who siblings I currently teach). After that, If they ask, I will confirm. If they don't, I'll let the bump do the talking for me ;-)
I told my class of first graders at 15 weeks. They were so excited and their reactions were the best! One student wrote in his journal and explained the picture is of him fainting! I used his journal as my social media announcement.
I am 16 weeks on Friday and I haven't told my students yet. I have told my principal and coworkers though. I actually plan to tell them when one finally asks me something. I'm totally showing but I'm pretty sure they think I am just gaining weight.
I told the boss and talk about it with co workers. I won't be telling my students by announcemrnt. Two of my parents know already though. So, it may travel fast.
