This weekly check-in is for anyone using/considering or who has used a 3rd party method of reproduction, including: Donor egg, donor sperm, embryo adoption, gestation carrier, or surrogate - also Donors, GC's and surrogates are welcome as well! If you don't check-in for 3 weeks you'll be removed from the list but we'll happily add you back next time you check in!

    Update on me:  My donor backed out. She "got a little sick" her last cycle so she will not be donating for a while, if at all. I'm so sad. I'm at a loss. I was emotionally invested in this donor.  I emailed my RE to see if they can forward an email to her.  I'm not sure if they legally can do it, but I hope that the donor reconsiders and decides to donate to us.

    QOTW: Can a beverage be a comfort food?  If so, coffee is my comfort food :)

    @mm29 thanks for doing the check in. I am sorry about your donor, FX she has a change of heart. I freaking hate all the moving parts.

    I feel good or great lately. I'm still on super light duty, I guess I will be for the remainder of the pregnancy. I feel like a 1940's pregnant lady--- limited standing, No squatting, no lifting, no pushing. My dr said she would leave it up to me if we had intercourse. WTF? I wish she would have just said Yes or No. Like, is it responsible to have sex or not? of course, we are erring on the side of caution...

    I really wanted to take a Baby Moon but I guess that isn't practical anymore

    SAIF: We've started baby cereal and B is doing great. I thought G would be more into it since he's my chunky monkey, but I guess eating is more work than a bottle and well, he's a boy... lol They both just get cuter and cuter! There is never a day I regret using donor embryos. Regardless of their genetics, they are my children. :)

    Hi there,

    After some lurking, I'd like to be added to this check in. My husband and I are in Canada. After two failed IVF treatments and suspected egg quality issues, we are actively pursuing and researching both egg and embryo donation - likely in the US or Europe. We are still in the process of contacting (multiple) clinics and getting price quotes, success rates, and details, and likely won't make the actual trip until Summer 2015. I would LOVE to connect with others on this journey, as I find it mind boggling so far - particularly anyone who is/has considered 3rd Party reproduction in the Czech Republic.

    Anyways, sorry for the long-ish intro. :) 
    QOTW:  My favourite comfort food is probably Kraft Dinner... or possibly a Nestle Caramel Drumstick!
    30 yrs, healthy & TTC since April 2010 
    DH 32yrs & healthy
    *unexplained infertility* 

    Regularly access alternative medicine to supplement a lack of resources in our geographical area.
    • Three rounds of clomid (50mg days 3-7) were useless.
    • IUI#1 w/clomid & HCG in May 2013, BFN.
    • IUI#2 w/clomid & HCG on July 23rd. BFN.
    • IUI #3 in August cancelled last minute, due to lab error.
    • IVF#1 - Started Gonal F stims October 13 2013 for IUI. Over-responded with too many follicles, so converted to IVF. Retrieval October 29th - got 5 eggs, 4 fertilized. Had 2 perfect little embryos transferred on day 3 (Nov. 1). The remaining 2 didn't survive to freeze. Got our BFN on November 13th 2013.
    • IVF#2 - Started stims August 21st. Triggered with Suprefact, started on dostinex due to risk of OHSS. Retrieval September 5th - got 27 eggs! 21 embryos on day 3. Embryos deteriorated quickly. ESet 5day blast on Sept 10. No embryos high enough quality to freeze. BFN came Sept. 22.

    Reserved a semi-known proven donor in August .

    Waiting for consult/screening and protocols with estimated fresh cycle timing in October

    AFM:  I have my baseline ultrasound tomorrow.  With that also comes the estrogen patches and suppositories.

    QOTW:  I like most carbs.

    OE IVF #1  9/2/13 Cancelled- poor response

    DE IVF #1 3/12/14- BFP 3/17/14- ectopic, right tube removed 4/11/14 @ 7 weeks

    DE FET #1 7/3/14-Transferred 2 5AA 6 day embryos Beta 7/13/14 BFN

    DE FET #2 9/5/14-Transferred 2 4BB 5 day embryos Beta 9/15/14 BFN

    DE FET #3 in December- Cancelled, didn't respond to meds

    DE FET #3 (2nd try) 2/13/15- Transferred 1 4BB and 1 4BA 5 day embryos Beta 2/23/15  BFN again (CP)

    DE FET #4 - last 2 frosties....5/22/15- Transferred 1 4BA embryo...only one frostie thawed properly.  Beta scheduled for 6/1-  BFN (beta 2, 2.81, 6, 23, 49.4) 6/15/15 Discovered ectopic in left tube.  Methotrexate given. Moving on to a new donor. Hoping to transfer by the end of the year.

    Cant find a donor that is healthy and available.  Looking at being happy with just the two of us.

    @mm29‌ sending you hugs.

    Me: well I went in for my u/s and bw on cd12 expecting to have iui on cd13 and I was told my estrogen count is still too low so I am going back in the morning to recheck everything. Hopefully I'll do trigger tomorrow night and iui #5 later this week.

    Qotw: being a southern girl my comfort food is thing like: fried squash, country fried steak, corn bread and rice and gravy..... Pretty much everything that we should never eat!

    I am 13 weeks tomorrow and still in disbelief about this whole thing! I'm working with quite a team of doctors thanks to my autoimmune disease (Sjögren's). I am currently seeing an OB, MFM, Rheumatologist & an eye doctor to get things squared away. I was never happier to graduate from the RE, and made the decision last week to stop treatment with Dr. KK. I appreciate what she has done for me, but it was to the point where the stress was outweighing the perceived benefits. I listened to my gut, and hope that I don't regret that decision!! I will have my NT scan on Thursday & think that should be pretty telling.

    QOTW: I can't seem to get enough of chicken salad sandwiches these days. And strawberries and ice cream :)

    IVF #4 (FET #1): BFN

    IVF #5 (DE IVF #1 with Dr. KK protocol): Currently PREGNANT!!!!!!
    Synthroid + Prednisone + Metformin + Baby Aspirin + Supplements Galore = 15+ pills a day
    Lupron + Lovenox + Delestrogen + IVIG + B/W = 2-5 pokes a day
    19R, 17M, 17F - transferred two Grade A blasts 11/16, four frosties!!!
    Beta #1 11/24 (13dpo/8dp5dt) = 367 ~ Beta #2 11/26 (15dpo/10dp5dt) = 709
    Beta #3 11/29 (18dpo/13dp5dt) = 1,997 ~ Beta #4 12/1 (20dpo/15dp5dt) = 3,403

    @mm29 sorry about your donor, our first choice donor ended up taking a job in another state and moved away.  Don't let it get you down, hope she changes her mind but be open to finding another donor.  
    @1220winterbride why can't you take a babymoon?  Is your Dr. not letting you travel?  I thought that was usually during the last 8 weeks?
    Thespis7  I hope your trigger and IUI go well.

    Don't recall if I checked in last week.  We had a sonogram at 13wks that made me cry seeing the baby in there and we officially hit the second trimester last week so I finally told my brother our news.  We will find out the official sex on Feb 13th although our surro is 95% certain the baby is a girl.  

    Favorite comfort food is definitely ice cream and grilled cheese.

    @mm29 - I am so sorry about your donor, that sucks. I hope another comes along that is just even more perfect.

    Sorry I haven't been checking in but there's been nothing going on until now. We just chose another profile and will we are gearing up for another transfer in late February/early March. This is probably my last shot so hopefully it works this time. I can get pregnant (with the help of donors) pretty easily I just have never made it to hearing or seeing a heartbeat, until the last time. Then 3 days after witnessing the heartbeat there was none. We are continuing with the lovenox, and will add in trental and additional progesterone checks to make sure my levels are OK.

    QOTW: I love pizza. That is my comfort food. AF is here and I am cramping and bloated, and NOTHING sounds better than a large, greasy pizza right now!

    13 weeks today and anxious to get back to the dr. to hear their heartbeats. Hopefully just being paranoid but I just wish I could feel them and know they're good. Once or twice I've felt a little nudge - I guess if they're at the edge of their little bubble I could feel it. Next appt is 2/16, then big ultrasound the appt after that. Crazy how fast it's going! Looking forward to getting my appetite back too.

    Work has been interesting as my news trickles through the department lol.

    Just wanted to say thank you guys for being out there and understanding.
    Found out today that 3 teachers I work with are pregnant. Been rough day. Having fertility issues simply sucks! This whole struggle sucks. No one understand but us. Just feeling defeated.

    Ok I will now put my big girl panties on and suck it up.
