I like Carly, spelled like that though. You don't have to get all weird with spelling - it's fine as it is.
I especially like it as a nn for Caroline.

ETA: No on Riplee. Even Ripley. No.
  • Riplee? I dislike it more than Sabriel.

  • I had to vote neither. I love the name "Carly". But just plain, simple Carly. Not Carleigh. And dear god please don't even consider Riplee any more (although I'm dying to know who gave Riplee the 1 vote?!?!)
  • Maybe ditch them both and stick with Michaela. Or ask the baby name board, but I can save you the trip and let you know that this will not go well.
  • I voted neither because the spelling is just awful.

  • I hate hate hate hate when people spell a name one way and insist that it's pronounced another way. That is Michael-a and how people will recognize it.
Might not be what you want to hear but true. Sorry
  • Eww. None.

    You asked.
  • I've never even heard of Micheala?

Is is pronounced like 'Micheal' with an uh sound at the end?
  • I like Carly, but even that only as a nickname really. I like someone's suggestion of Caroline.

I don't think this is true, I know a few Michaelas and have never heard any of them called Michael-a. I don't know any Mckaylas, and that version looks more made up to me.

    Yes it is.
  • What about OH MICKEY YOURE SO FINE
  • Michaela is a real name, and as @ramy3‌ said, the correct spelling. McKayla and Mayakla and of those are not.
  • We have a patient coming in next week named Karleigh. Four of us laughed about it. My coworker almost spit out her drink and I almost peed myself.
  • I think that if you use a long first name the middle name should be shorter and visa versa. I do like Karly Michaela or Michaela Karly. I don't know if anyone is active on the name board are they?

I've really never seen that before! Good to know. I definitely would have been mispronouncing that one. The Michael part totally throws me off

What about R'ypleigh... While we are on unique spellings.

Totally kidding, not a fan of the name period...believe it or not.

  • Isn't it a little strange for a mom named Carlyn to name the child Carly?

I was actually thinking the same thing.

  • There is a neither option, I don't think there is a need for jokes to be made.

I voted Carleigh, it's pretty. Good luck with the name hunt!
  • My dogs name is Mikyla, I did not name her! I adopted her when she was 3 and just didn't bother changing the spelling at the vet on base. Everytime I take her to a new groomers they look at me like I am a moron when I give them her shot record.... I couldn't imagine having to deal with that with a child! Please stick with traditional spellings!!
  • I am just going to be honest. I do not like either of those names. Carly seems like it should be short for something, such as Caroline. Michaela is just a name that is commonly mispronounced and spelled incorrectly. If you like them that is all that matters.
  • Michaela is an actual name, spelled correctly so I have to go with that. Carleigh and Riplee are terrible! I can think of about 10 was to make fun of the name Riplee right now, but I won't. The kids on the playground will though.

  • I like names that are more traditional and spelt correctly. This thing of uniquely spelt names is going to be a headache for those poor kids. Just think of employers reading their resumes!!!
  • How many posts are there going to be about these empty-headed girls and wanting opinions on their terrible names????? Is it a new game?

OMG you are so cool! -said NOBODY ever. Get a life and move along.
  • It's never a good idea to ask for name suggestions. Name your kid whatever you want.

Can we please stop these posts?

It's a poll, which means she wants suggestions. There's absolutely nothing wrong with this. Calm down.
  • These are fun, ignore the attention seeking, ignorant comments.
