I'm 12 days late, af is on a normal 28 day cycle I've tested twice now and both have been negative one I did 2 days past and was negative like I expect but tested today and was negative again I feel pregnant, nausea heart burn and bloated feeling, i just don't understand why both have been negative. Been ttc for 3 months now.
Feeling impatient and lost. Do I wait longer or just assume I'm not pregnant

You answered your own question here. If the test is negative then you are not pregnant. Symptoms mean nothing without a positive test.

Eta: I understand being impatient but it can take up to a year for a healthy couple. You have only been trying for 3 months so there isn't anything to worry about.
  • How do you know that you are late? Are you temping and charting?

  • I've been charting have been since I was 19, i have a app on my phone then keeps track of it

But are you temping? An app that keeps track of your period can only make a random guess at when you're ovulating
  • No I haven't been temping

    No I haven't been temping

Then my suggestion is to start temping since it's the only way to confirm ovulation. You probably just ovulated later.

Unless your chart includes temp data, there really is no way to know if your period is, in fact, "late." I recommend testing every 7-10 days or so until you get your period or a positve test. Also, start temping, it really is a game changer to know what is going on with your body.

  • You know there is such thing as a false negative actually..

Ok, sure... but if you really think you are one of the very, very few women to have purchased a bogus test, then just take another one, it should come up positive no problem. Let us know how it goes.

  • Not to give false hope or get bashed but, my daughter is 9 months old and I've never had a positive at home pregnancy test. The only positive pregnancy test I've had were blood tests done at the doctors office. It does happen. So it is possible to be pregnant without having a positive home test. Go to the doctor. Your doctor will also be able to provide ample amounts of good information and resources for you. Good luck! We are trying to conceive again as well

If you know best then why did you come here.  Also, there was no question in your OP.

  • A lot of people are harsh I thought this place was to help and give people advise? It's nice to see that some people have gave her some positive feedback. Your best bet is to go to the doctors but if not better luck next time xx ps I know the feeling I just want it to happen to xxx
  • @hollytisi - lurking from another board. Check to see if your HPT is expired. If so, repeat with a non-expired test. Had a friend who kept testing negative on expired HPTs. Went to the OB to see what was wrong once she was 2 weeks late. OB tested, told her she was pregnant, and probably used an expired test. She went home and - yep - saw that the box was leftover from her first pregnancy and over a year expired.

Not saying that's your situation. Most likely it is just something weird with ovulation this month. For future reference, the lesson here (from my friend) is to check the expiration date on your HPT!

  • To add clarification, if your period hasn't arrived after 60 days, then it's time to go to the doctor. Until then, keep testing once a week.
  • Can anybody PM me please

If you want positive feedback, sell something on ebay and ship it to your buyer in a timely matter

    No.

Your best bet is to wait another few days and test again. Repeat until you get your period, which you will, because your test was negative and you're not pregnant.     People wasting doctor's time with nonsense like this is part of why our healthcare system is such a mess.
Unless it's been 60 days since your last period. In which case, you are welcome to go to your doctor to get a medication to jump start your menses. :)

I can't believe the amount of terrible advice being thrown around on this board. Or maybe I can. Great job xo.
I'm actually disgusted.  Misinformation is like a disease that keeps spreading.  It makes me sad that so many people just have no clue, and the people they are asking have no clue, either.
I wish we still had AT LEAST the "Read This New People" pinned at the top.
Meh. I don't think the "Read this First" post ever really stopped us from getting so many questions like this. What really worked was seeing that posting false or misleading information would get you flamed to hell and back.

But we're not allowed to do that anymore. :(
