AW: ultrasound today and lovenox question.

Went in for a 10 week u/s at the ob and blood draw for verifi. It was just a tummy ultrasound which is disappointing when I'm used to seeing all the detail of a transvaginal one..but.. The little guy is still in there with a heart beating away:-). OB is sending me, however, to MFM in regards to the lovenox I'm on. The lovenox was prescribed by the RE because some studies show it can increase blood flow to the uterus/fetus and is useful with unexplained fertility and/recurrent losses. The OB doesn't really understand why I'm on it and says it can cause more 'problems'. So, off I go to the high risk OB for an opinion on the matter I guess. Any insight on this? I guess I was under the impression that it was a safe safety measure. One more question for you ladies: has anyone bought an at home Doppler? I can't decide if it'll freak me out or lessen my anxiety yet.. Tia!

10/11: after 2 years, saw a RE, FSH 5.4
11/11: BFP! (surprise after thyroid & normal hsg),
12/11: missed m/c after 7 week u/s, 1/12: D&C
6/12 IUI#1-IUI #3: clomid = BFP!, C/P
IVF #1(10/12) FSH 5.4, AFC: 16 long Lupron, 5R/5M/4F, all 4 made it to 5dt, 1 blast/1-8 cell transferred=BFN
IVF #2(12/12)AFC 21, MD lupron, 4R/4M/3F, 5dt of 1 blast and 2-8cell. BFN.
IVF#3(4/13) Natural start antagon protocol, 12R,11F. one PGS normal at day 6 transfer. BFN.
IVF#4 (11/13) C.CRM (ODW.U normal 8/13 Still no Diagnosis) EPP/antagonist. ER 13R/7M/6F. Only 1 made it to freeze. Abnormal. Looking into options of DE, Fresh vs frozen.
10/14 new local RE to look into what's next. CD3 FSH 4.7, AMH 0.9. Met with DE agencies and exploring options for feb/march 2015.
Surprise natural bfp (4 days before donor is signed). Beta #1 at 9dpo: 51.8, 2nd beta: 195 (25 hours doubling) @11dpo. 3rd beta (12/15): 516 (35 hrs doubling) 4th beta(12/17): 895 (58 hours doubling) 5th beta(12/19): 2120. U/S at 5w0d(12/22): one gestational sac with yolk sac. U/S #2 (6w0d)12/29. One little bean measuring 6w0d with HR 124. 3rd u/s(1/4)7w0d: baby measuring 7w2d. HR 134. 3/30: A/S at MFM went great except for low lying placenta. Verifi results are normal! Team Blue! Please send any positive thoughts our way! EDD:8/24/2015

    Yay for u/s!!

    For OB's that don't understand the way the immune system works and clotting issues unless they are straightforward they will never understand prophalactic lovenox. This is scary considering how prevalent these issues are in todays medical community. Hopefully the MFm will understand but regardless of whether they do or not keep taking the Lovenox at least until 16 weeks. The issues with lovenox are that its not reversible like heparin. So at 34 weeks u have to either stop it or transfer to heparin. It causes bruising and if you get an SCH can make it larger if you dont stop it. Other than that there are no issues. 



    Its an OBS job to deliver a healthy baby, they are not mc specialists or RE so I dont tend to listen to them in this realm unless my baby is about to die.

    i have a doppler it really helps!

    MY RE also prescribed me the Lovenox, and I stopped taking it at 8 weeks. MY MFM was interested if I taking it, but I told her I had stopped taking it but I am still taking the baby aspirin. I bought a doppler last week and got it in the mail today. I used it and it was so reassuring that both babies are snugged in nicely. It has lessened my anxiety but it does take some time to find the heartbeat the first time.

    Glad to hear the baby is doing so well :) Dr. KK put me on Lovenox (I have a protien s deficiency and restricted blood flow to the uterus). My RE, OB & MFM were not thrilled overall with Dr. KK's protocol, but my MFM agreed that the Lovenox was ok. He didn't agree with the dose (KK Rx twice a day, MFM only wanted once a day), but I will continue on it up until 36 weeks. I'll stop for delivery, and then resume for 6 weeks postpartum to prevent clots.

    I got an at-home doppler and it has been a life saver several times. You have to be patient with it - I can't always pick up the heartbeat, which can be upsetting and cause more stress for some people.

    19R, 17M, 17F - transferred two Grade A blasts 11/16, four frosties!!!

    Yay on your ultrasound! I don't have any lovenox advice but I bought a Doppler and can't imagine not having it now, esp during my spotting scare it was such a relief. At first it was tricky but you get the hang of it. Actually at my appointment today my nurse was struggling to find the hb and I wanted to be like here give it to me lol, it was right where I knew it would be.

    Thanks, ladies for the advice. I don't feel comfortable just stooping the lovenox because the OB isn't comfortable with it, but I do know that if I have a bleeding scare I will probably freak out. I guess I'll just wait for instruction from the MFM. And, I just ordered a Doppler today. I really think it will ease my stress between appointments. Now I wait for the verifi results.. Ugh. The stress.
