  • Week/Fruit: 40 - Jackfruit

Rants/Raves? We've been having a few snow storms and I'm convinced she's going to come tonight/tomorrow when we're supposed to get 2 feet and blizzard like conditions.  Good thing DH has a Subaru!  My MIL is freaking out and saying I should call my doctor and ask if they know when she's going to come... She's done this 3 times... I think she's going nuts

Appointments/Updates? Tomorrow's appointment got pushed to today.  I don't really care if I miss it because it's not going to tell me anything.

What OWT or induction techniques have you tried, if any? Walking, Sex, pineapple (only because I really like it).  I was thinking of getting some EPO, but a) it was super expensive and b) we're getting a blizzard and I don't think it would be smart to try to jump start labor in the middle of a storm.

What have you done this week to distract yourself from baby not being here yet? Lots and Lots of Grey's Anatomy... :) and shopping - though any time I leave the house strangers ask me how far along I am and I always get the comment "OMG What are you doing out of the house?!?!" so, I stay home and watch Netflix, because it's a better distraction.

    Best part of your week?
Tuesday when I got to hold her for the first time!

    Worst part of your week?
The night before last was extremely rough. I'm not going to go into details but DH and I had to have a very serious talk and my depression is extreeeemely bad. Everything is going to be ok but there's some serious stuff going on right now. Hopefully it will get sorted out in the next couple weeks.

    Milestones?
    Nothing yet really.

What has been the hardest thing adjusting to a new LO? What has been the best?
So far the lack of sleep is the hardest. The best is just having a sweet tiny human to cuddle 24/7.

  • Today was my due date!

    Anyway. ..

    He's 3 days old.

    39w4d

Having him come into the world and being put on my chest!

Worst was yesterday coming home to my house that was in pure chaos! I had to open a can of whoop ass on my kids, and make dinner! Despite my mom being here to 'help. '

    Nothing yet.

    Lack of sleep is rough.
    Just having him here, snuggles.

    LOs ages:
    DS1 26 months, DS2 12 days

What Gestational age was LO born?
    39w2d

    Best part of your week?
Snuggling on the couch after he eats. Also seeing DS1 be so sweet with him.

    Worst part of your week?
When they both have unmet needs at the same time, like both hungry, dirty diapers, etc. Also nursing challenges.

    Milestones?
Ummm...he looks at us sometimes. Other than that (and eating, pooping, sleeping), he doesn't have a lot of tricks at this age.

What has been the hardest thing adjusting to a new LO? What has been the best?
Hardest - having time for DS1, DS2, DH, and me. Best - on weekend mornings, DH will bring DS1 and DS2 into bed with us. I love family snuggle time!imageimage
  • @maebb - Love the pics!!! I can't wait to have mine to show off!

  • @misslizzy82, thanks! I hope your baby comes soon and that L&D go smoothly and no interference from the snow!
  • LOs Age(s): 3.5 weeks.

What Gestational age was LO born? 40w3d.

Best part of your week? DH is off work today for a snow day, so that's fun!

Worst part of your week? I'm sleeeeeeepy.

Milestones? DD just started social smiling last Wednesday (at exactly 3 weeks!), and it's the most adorable thing EVER!! She only smiles for me so far, but she's been doing it multiple times daily, and it melts me every time!

What has been the hardest thing adjusting to a new LO? What has been the best? It's been really hard to adjust to having three kids--we're outnumbered now, which makes it difficult when they all need something. But, it's getting better, and I trust that we'll figure it out soon. And, having three babies to love really is incredible. <3

Here's a pic of DD from one of her first outings (to the grocery store!).
  • @mrs_bennett - does she have purple eyes?

  • Really frustrated right now... at 38weeks I was told I was 2cm and 50%, at 39 weeks I was told I was 2+cm and 80% progress! 40 weeks I was just told 2cm 60%... Someone somewhere is incompetent...

What Gestational age was LO born? 39w1d. Today is my EDD. :)

Best part of your week? Meeting this baby girl, of course! Runners up are introducing her to big sister AND bringing her home. <3

Worst part of your week? 99% of the staff at the hospital were awesome, but I had one nurse who had nothing but negative and passive aggressive comments to make about everything. She actually made my blood pressure go up. If she was assigned to me one more time, I was going to request a swap because I "literally couldn't even" with her.

Milestones? First at home bath? First pedi appointment? It's only been a few days, so no real milestones yet.

What has been the hardest thing adjusting to a new LO? Nothing too bad. Just finding our way with new routines as a family of 4. What has been the best? Seeing how much our older daughter loves her baby sister and knowing without a doubt that 1. We made the right decision to have a 2nd and 2. That our family is complete.

Attaching a picture of my "current view". <3
