Indigestion

I'm experiencing terrible indigestion. Any suggestions?

  • Tums have not helped at all:(
  • Go for Zantac or Pepcid AC then
  • Rolaids are my go-to..

What kind of indigestion re we talking about? reflux and heartburn? or more abdominal/intestinal like gas/diarrhea?

If it's heartburn or reflux, eat smaller meals more frequently, and don't eat at least 2 hours before bed. Try Diovol/Almagel/Maalox/whatever the call it near where you are. It's similar to Tums, but works better. Have some before or after a meal that's likely to give you the problems. (I.e. large or acidic meals)

If it's gas/diarrhea, the same stuff often works well for gas, but also up your fibre intake. Bran buds on your favourite cereal, eat the skin of fruit like apples or pears instead of peeling it... fibre bars and such.

  • My OB told me to take pepcid twice a day and then I take Tums as well. It's worked wonders on my reflux!!! How you find something that works for you!
  • I talked to my OBgyn today and she recommended Pepcid AC, and it's working! She also said Tums and Rolaids are just a "bandaid" for relief. All good to know. Thank you all for the suggestions!
  • @Kzamler‌, Thanks for the update!

  • I tried everything otc and nothing was helping. Milk is the only thing making me feel better. It's helping with heartburn and stomach upset. I'm usually slightly lactose intolerant so this was a strange find for me
  • I've been told that pickle juice works really well.

Wow talk about rude. If you have nothing constructive to add to the conversation then don't bother.
How about this: if you don't have the sense to locate some Tums on your own, don't call someone rude who DOES! ☺️
You make no sense whatsoever I didn't even ask the question so...your response is idiotic. Sorry I don't need tums, if I did I know where they are and you are RUDE.

WKs always give up so fast. It's such a shame!
Yet again your response is idiotic and makes no sense. Does your mommy know you are playing on her computer?

Wow, I just feel sorry for you.
  • Ive heard to eat watermelon....but besides that, your doctor can probably prescribe something if none of the over the counter stuff is working. I have a prescription with my 1st pregnancy. Granted it didnt work for me, but that doesnt mean it wont for you!
