Trouble TTC

Anyone from Minneapolis?

I'm curious which clinic you're seeing. I first went to U of MN 2 yrs ago but never moved forward with treatment. Now I'm going to CRM and just about to start IVF. I felt like I got more info from CRM so think we're in good hands now. What I found interesting is that I called a couple of other clinics, and with any and all of them, I would've been able to get in very quickly, within a couple of weeks. Seems like others state it can take months to get an RE appt.

I've only been in the Twin Cities area for 3 yrs but feel lucky to have great health care!

Re: Anyone from Minneapolis?

  • Minneapolis here! I've been at the U of MN for over a year now, most of the staff is great, and they always follow up, return messages. I had a loss this summer and they were so sweet and gentle, the care was amazing. I feel they could be better at working with lesbian patients, especially during intake (not sure why my wife needed blood tests?) but I've heard that CRM has a doctor that refuses to treat lesbian and single people, so we decided to skip that place all together.

  • I'm also from the Twin Cities! We currently go to Reproductive Medicine and Infertility Associates (RMIA) in Woodbury, and it's just ok. We have had a couple of bad experiences with one nurse in particular, and the doc that we're working with seems quite uninterested, like she's been doing this for too long and needs to retire. LOL! Of course, since we haven't gotten a BFP yet, I say these things. However, like katemonster had said, we'd all probably end up loving any doc that gets us pregnant! We have only done IUIs, and if we need to switch to IVF, we will likely switch clinics. We're attending the IVF seminar in March at CRM because I've heard SUCH great things about this clinic.

  • So glad to have seen post since this is the route that we may have to go.  My husband had a vasectomy reversal almost a year ago and the motility is not good at all :(  Well I guess its time to start saving my pennies for this!

  • I am from Mpls area too! I have my first appt at CRM next week with Dr Lisa Erickson. It's good to know there good feelings about that clinic!!
  • We are starting to get more serious about moving forward with next steps. I saw Dr. Corfman at Midwest Centers for Reproductive Health in MG and my husband just has his SA there as well... I feel on the phone they are very short at times. @katemonster1 - why did you prefer CRM (and where is that?).

Did anyone else try a few places before they decided? We live in Rockford, so I do like the idea of a Maple Grove location vs Minneapolis for convenience.
