im about 8 weeks pregnant and I've been having some mild cramping. It only lasts for a little bit and then dissipates. I haven't had an spotting or any other symptoms with the cramps. Is cramping normal during the first trimester?
With both of my pregnancies (both of which resulted in healthy babies delivered at 40 weeks,) my first pregnancy symptom was cramping that felt exactly like menstrual cramps. The cramps lasted for most of the first trimester. Totally normal.
I had severe cramping, no bleeding at about the same time, would keep me up at night. I had an early u/s done and everything was fine. Just found out I am pregnant this week and am wondering if I will get it again.
So how MUCH cramping is normal? Mine are always mild (like, nowhere near as bad as menstrual cramps) but I have at least a little bit almost every day, maybe every other day.
I do seem to be getting slammed with the first trimester stick though - awful m/s, my tits are KILLING me, round ligament pains, etc whining etc.
Found out I was pregnant the day before thanksgiving. I've got two boys already, and don't recall any cramping with them. This time around I'm having mild cramping, usually first thing in the morning, then later in the day after being on my feet a bunch. i haven't had any spotting/bleeding though. It's still unnerving if you haven't had it before. I will say that every day it's happening a little less.
I had lots of cramping right after I found out (4 weeks). It has slacked off now. The only time I cramp now is after sex if I have an O. I have read that too is perfectly normal. But this is my first so everything is scary!!

I'm almost out of my first trimester, and I still cramp. Started maybe 5 weeks? Sometimes so intense, I hit the ground. Literally. I fell to my knees in a parking lot, I thought I was dying. Asked my OB and he's like oh that's normal, just your uterus and the ligaments around it stretching. As long as you're not bleeding, and the intense pain doesn't last long, you should be fine. I have mild cramps almost continuously, but the intense waves only last maybe 30-40 seconds max.
Same as others.... I was having mild menstrual-like cramps from days after I found out I was pregnant up until just a couple weeks ago (I'll be 14 weeks tomorrow). I don't remember having cramping at all with my first, so I was worried too (despite having read the books ). My OB said that the main concern with cramping at the beginning is the possibility of an ectopic pregnancy. I ended up having 2 early ultrasounds due to an implantation bleed, so we knew right away that everything was fine. If the cramping is not intense and not accompanied by bright red bleeding, it is usually totally normal.
Re: Cramping during 1st trimester
