Still in crib?

Hi ladies, lurker here. Is anyone else's Lo still in crib, not toddler bed? I feel like we're behind, but I am terrified of not sleeping if we change it. She's nowhere near night-potty trained, either. I'm also a little worried about the furniture that Dh hasn't anchored yet. At least during the day I feel like I can keep a closer eye on her with the furniture.

  • Still in the crib and he is perfectly content.
  • I was wondering the same thing! My son takes a nap in a king size bed at his Nana's house during the work day but at night is in his crib at home and we have no problems. He has never tried to climb out which makes me happy!
  • We changed DD2 to a twin bed right after she turned two... DD1 liked to climb *into* the crib to be with her. super cute BUT she was teaching DD2 how to climb in & out in the process.

  • DS1 climbed out at 21 months old. Silver lining was that DS2 was due 3 months later. So we didn't have to buy another crib!

But, if they are happy in the crib, keep them there! Way easier.

  • We moved DD to toddler bed last year when she climbed out.  What a nightmare; ending up doing Super Nanny style, which worked after a painful week, but when she regressed (and we had DS) we started co-sleeping for bedtime (and still do) - although the Toddler clock (blue sleep, yellow wake) has worked well.  She's in a Twin bed now - after co-sleep at bedtime, she sleeps by herself until the clock is yellow and then joins us for the morning (most mornings, not all).  Oh, there are a handful of mornings we found evidence of her night explorations - the most memorable was the bucket of Nutella in her bedroom closet.  Like everything else I hear it's easy with some kids, hard with others.  If your LO isn't clamoring to get out now, might be the easy-to-bed type also.  Good luck when the time comes!
