I'm 36 weeks and I am in serious pain. It's way worse than the other pregnancy growth pains I've felt. It's a 9/10 on the pain scale. I called my OB office and they closed early . They feel like contractions sort of. Should I wait it out or should I go to my hospital???? And please no sarcastic responses or other bullcrap like I get on my other posts please
They should have an emergency line. Call that. They will probably triage to the hospital. Pain at 9-10 is always a reason for "get help immediately". Best of luck
HOW would we know better than you? I personally would go in, rather than ask strangers without MDs on the internet, if you're having excruciating pain.
I agree with pp, call the after hours line and explain whats happening. If they are anything like my doc office they will probably tell you to go to the hospital. But I would personally call first. If I was in excruciating pain, I wouldn't wait it out.
If it's the worst pregnancy pain you've encountered, I'd head straight to L&D or the ER. The worst they can do is send you back home if nothing's wrong. If something is wrong, you need to be seen ASAP.

..no but seriously are you really going to listen to any of us? Especially after you tell us not to be sarcastic to your ridiculous question. Not trying to be mean but come on. Obviously you should go in if your pain is a 9/10. Good luck.
Just go in or call L&D they'll tell you the same thing. "They feel like contractions sort of." That's a red flag and with it being 9/10 I wouldn't risk it.
Even your doctor can't tell you anything over the phone really except for.. Go get checked. Go to L&D. No one can help you without you being seen especially us internet doctors. Typically if you specify you don't want smart answers... That's all you'll get.
I think you may need to re-evaluate your pain scale. I went to the hospital last night in pain and I'll tell you one thing, I certainly couldn't grab my phone/computer to time contractions, make a call, or write on a message board. Regardless, you need to find a 24 hotline or just go to the hospital.
Ditto to what @sarabethmack said. If I was a 9/10 on the pain scale, I would not be sitting on The Bump asking internet strangers what to do and trying to dictate answers. My butt would be in the car on the way to hospital.
If you're in that much pain, just go to the hospital. I wouldn't even bother trying to call your doctor at this point, just go. Good luck.

This. If I was in as much pain as you say, along with thinking I could be in labor and things of that nature, my first thought wouldn't be to jump on the internet and ask strangers. It would be to contact and/or go to medical professionals that would actually know.
WTF is this? Are you kidding me? My first thought would have been a call to the hospital and/or doctor, NOT posting a question to a forum with people who have no clue as to your own personal pain tolerance. What a 9/10 feels to you could be a 3/4 to me, how the hell would we know what you should do? But no you did the right thing by coming to us FIRST instead of your doctor because we know SO MUCH MORE on this subject than your health care provider does.
I can't even... SMH, this can't be a real question..? No, let's not go to l&d, I've heard it's much more sanitary and safe to have your SO help you deliver your baby on the bathroom floor instead of in a room surrounded by trained professionals... 9/10 on a pain scale FML...

If your doctor doesn't have an after hours, go to L&D if the pain is that bad. Common sense, yo.
Thank god for them internets....... :-@
