Need shoe recommendations

hello all. I am 22 weeks pregnant with twins and starting to feel lower back pain and swelling of the feet. Need recommendations for a good supportive shoe that is somewhat stylish and also very comfortable. Cannot wear sneakers to work every day. Please help!

Re: Need shoe recommendations

  • Try Dansco's, they are comfy but not very fashion forward.

  • Have you tried chaco's or crocs? You don't have to wear the weird foamy crocs. They make regular shoes for people who are on their feet a lot and they are super comfy.
  • I've never had swelling, but mind my joseph seibels comfy.

My two boys are getting a surprise May 2015!

  • I have a pair of lucky brand booties (short, stacked heel maybe 2 in?) that are SHOCKINGLY comfortable, and very stylish (or so my younger colleagues told me). I live in the northeast so they need to be warm, have room to wear socks (brrr), and they're non-slip soles.

They're more comfortable than my sneakers - believe it or not.

  • Sketchers has a line of memory foam shoes that are actually pretty decent looking... The GOwalk line is pretty awesome- I always use them in the summer and when I travel since I walk so much and they keep my feet happy, they have a lot of give too which should help with swelling
  • I second Danskos.  I wear they almost everyday and they are very supportive and you can find some that are dressier than others.

Kelly, Mom to Christopher Shannon 9.27.06, Catherine Quinn 2.24.09, Trey Barton lost on 12.28.09, Therese Barton lost on 6.10.10, Joseph Sullivan 7.23.11, and our latest, Victoria Maren 11.15.12

Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck.  Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.

  • The Skeckers GoWalk with memory foam are awesome. If your feet swell, they stretch with your feet and give some arch support
  • Try life stride. So comfortable!
  • Birkenstocks? They make closed shoes and clogs.
  • I got a few pairs of Sketchers "Relaxed Fit" flats.  They've got a little extra space compared to regular shoes, have a good rubber sole, and the memory foam as well.  Dressier than sneakers, but much more comfortable than regular flats.  I can actually walk around in them all day.

  • I bought a pair of Ugg black flats for work and they are super comfy.
  • Crocs have a nice pair of ballet flats. Can't even tell they are crocs. Those might help
  • Hi all- I just bought two pairs of shoes to get me through the rest of my pregnancy (my feet are like two swollen bell peppers and I just couldn't squeeze them into my size 9 flats anymore). I'm on my feet all day for work but am in a job where I need to look sharp and can't get away with tennis shoes or flip flops. I went ahead and bought a full size up and it is working wonders for my poor feet and my shoes fit so much better! I got basic, black Sam Edelman flats and some black, short Cole Haan boots- Nordstrom Rack was having a nice sale on them and I got them both for a steal. Also one more tip- I find that when I shop for clothes in the plus sized section its a much better selection and more modern styles than maternity (if the store you're shopping at even has maternity- it can be so darn hard to find!). Best of luck shoe hunting ladies!
  • I have a couple of Clarks brand shoes that are comfortable and still stylish.
