Ladies,
I had gestational diabetes with my last pregnancy but that was 4 years ago and I just can't remember all the details. My doctor and I are working on getting my fasting numbers down currently. I am taking 15 units of insulin at night right before bed. I have been having a snack around 9:30 and taking my insulin at 10. My numbers have still been high but I noticed that I when I woke up in the middle of the night I was covered in sweat. I am wondering if I am having low sugar while sleeping and my body is freaking out and trying to fix the low sugar. If I take my insulin at 8 instead of 10 and have a snack between then my sugars should balance out right? I am just so frustrated. Can anyone help me out?
Re: GD. I have a few questions for you ladies.
I can't help. But I came here to ask questions about my fasting numbers as well. My have been in the 90's and one doctor that checks my numbers wants them in the 80's so wants me to go on glyburide. I'm trying to avoid that and I'm curious if there's anything I can do to get them down slightly so I can avoid meds.
I am frustrated as well. I just want to be able to control this!!!
I'm frustrated because some of the drs are OK below 95 and some want below 90. It just depends on who looks at them that week. I have been eating carbs and protein, but I may need more protein as well as exercise.
Last time I was successful with diet so talking meds so early is frustrating and I feel inevitable.
