    Week/fruit: 17/tangy pomegranate
    Team: Staying Green

Have you had a recent appointment (how did it go)/When is your next appointment:
We had our sixteen week appointment (at 16w, 5d) and heard a beautiful HB at 165. The Doc was happy that I only gained two pounds in the four weeks, but I have to say I'm not enjoying my meals as much as I did in my first trimester when I gained around four pounds a week during weeks 9, 10 and 11 ;) . We did blood work to confirm our Lo doesn't have down syndrome, trisomy 21, etc and will hear back early next week if there are any "issues", otherwise no news is good news! Our 20 week appointment is set for Feb 19, 2015. We are staying team green but I'm excited to count ten fingers and ten toes and check to be sure all the organs look good, etc! We will also schedule a 4D ultrasound for 27 weeks and ask to keep one face shot out but otherwise seal all the other pictures to look at when our Lo arrives!

How are you feeling (rants/raves)? I have noticed each week that passes there is a small improvement. The reflux still kicks my butt, but I'm not noticing the lingering gunk in my throat or a lingering yucky taste after finishing each meal. Huge improvement as I've been able to introduce a few foods back into my diet that the flavor was foul with the reflux for a while. Still catching myself throwing up a couple times a week, but it's usually after a lot of liquids so it's likely the reflux!

QOTW: Where were you born? Where were you raised? Where do you currently live now? What's your favorite childhood memory? I was born in raised in a small town of a thousand people in South Dakota! My family (Parents, two brothers, and two sisters and all their kids still live there). I currently live in Albuquerque NM after going to college in Portland Oregon and spending five years growing my career in Washington DC. My favorite memory is getting to go swimming in the ponds at the golf course and "fishing out" all the golfballs that people hit into the ponds. My Grandfather managed the course and it was always a blast to spend our Saturdays and/or Sundays helping our Grandpa!

    Week/fruit: 15 weeks - navel orange!

Team: finding out Feb 20!! I think we might ask the tech to write down the sex and put it in an envelope so we can be alone when we find out!

Appointments: my next appointment is Feb 2 when I will do the AFP blood test. Then after that on the 20th we go for the anatomy scan! The next 4 weeks cannot go by fast enough! Can't wait to see our LO again!

Feeling: feeling fine. Starting to get restless legs when sitting on the train and at work. That's annoying. It seems like I can never get comfortable at night either! I wish I could get more sleep before baby comes!

QOTW: I was born and raised in CT. My husband and I moved back to CT last year after living in Manhattan for about 4 years, but I still work full time in the city. I was in upstate NY for 7 years before moving to the city, because I went to college/grad school up there, so it's nice to be back "home" (even though where I live now is over an hour from my hometown). Oh, and my favorite memory is spending summers at the beach in Rhode Island with my siblings and grandparents. We would walk to this little ice cream shack every night, and I thought it was the greatest place in the world!
  • Week/fruit: 14 wks/lemon

    Team: finding out ASAP

No recent appts my next one is when im 16 weeks.

I built up the courage to decide to do a home water birth with a midwife and doula. Well I live in the great state of conservative Alabama and home births are illegal and so are midwives. That has put a damper on my day. I am still researching my options cuz I feel like my right to choose has been taken away.

In good news I can feel the baby and it gives me peace of mind to know he/she is doing well in there.

I was born in Cleveland, Ohio grew up in Shaker heights, Ohio and now im in school working on my doctorate degree in Tuskegee, Alabama.

My fav childhood memories are our summer vacations. Every summer we all packed in our mini van and my parents picked a state very far away. We would drive 2-4 hours at a time and my parents would stop at historic sites, attractions and amusement parks. It was so fun and something I want to do with my children. I told my husband we are gonna have to upgrade to a mobile home.
  • @cwhiteh1  I Love the idea of making the treasured memory of learning the sex of your Lo something only you and your DH experience together. Even if you share with all your friends and family fifteen minutes later, it's still so romantic! Best of luck with the AFB blood testing!! I hope the second comes quick and even more importantly you get the results quickly! Ugh…I'm so with you on not getting "good sleep" right now. This past week our Lo must have moved into a position were they are on my blatter because I'm going to the restroom every hour during the day and I'm up each two hours overnight. I love when people tell me to get as much sleep as I can now because once we bring our Lo home there will be many sleepless night. I believe my body is trying to prepare me for the multiples wake ups in the middle of the night way too early! You live in my absolute favorite part of the US! When we lived in VA we took amtrak to NYC every eight or so weeks and I was always in heaven! I loved the chaos and hustle and bustle!! I've never been to Rhode Island, but I'm going to make the suggestion to DH..we LOVE to travel. I will say one of our favorite US vacation spots outside of NYC is Maine!

@shay092185  Ugh…you are totally right…its not fair that the state is taking away your right to choose how you bring your bundle of joy in the world. I didn't even realize there were states that banned home water births. I hope you and your DH can come across a compromise so you get the experience you want! I wholeheartedly agree that feeling LO is amazing!! I'm a FTM so I wasn't totally sure if I was really feeling movement or if it was bubbles, but I'm feeling the bubble like movements in my lower abdomen (not far from were they found Lo's HB) and consistently between six and nine each evening so I know it's our Lo moving away. My DH is already anxious to be able to feel the baby from outside, I think he is a bit jealous! So awesome that your working on your doctorate. I wish I had the ambition to go back for my master's in early childhood but I have not interest. Blah!! So many well wishes all continues to go well! When will you graduate from your doctorate program? You experience in getting in the car with a far away destination and ton's of site seeing along the way is very similar to my DH's. Except they had a small station wagon and five kids and would stay in motel 6's :) . DH has already told me he wants our kids to experience those kinds of road trips, expect I'm thinking we will be renting cabins or hotel rooms along our journey! I grew up camping and absolutely loved it, but I'm way to "citified" now :)

  • I'm a little bit new here. Due the 3rd :)

    Week/fruit: 17/onion

    Team: Finding out soon!

Have you had a recent appointment (how did it go)/When is your next appointment:
My most recent appointment was actually my first, my whole pregnancy was a total surprise, so I found out a little late. My next one will be Feb 5th for my 20 week u/s, so I'll find out the gender!

    How are you feeling (rants/raves)?
Feeling pretty good. Started my 4th semester of schooling on Tuesday. Staying busy and staying productive.

QOTW: Where were you born? Where were you raised? Where do you currently live now? What's your favorite childhood memory?
Born and raised mostly in Montgomery County, M.D. Then moved to Berkeley County, WV where I still reside. Favorite childhood memory is probably jamming out with my with dad to Jimi Hendrix.
  • @erinniou  WELCOME!! What a wonderful surprise ;) ! Hope Feb 5th comes quick for you!! I'm so gad your pregnancy is cooperating for you and you are continuing to feel well as you go to school. How great your due mid summer! Will you be going back to school in September or taking some time off?

  • @ denamaree a pomegranate? Sounds so much better than an onion!!!
What a cute thing to do with the 4D pictures.. It'll be so special to see them and see how much LO has grown and changed. I also had my blood work done for second tri screening and have my anatomy scan coming up. It's a little nerve wrecking waiting though.

    17 weeks/ onion
Team: SOOO anxious to find out. Next month can't come soon enough.

Appts: have my Pap smear follow up next Friday. I'm quite nervous and just hoping whatever was there in December has now cleared up. fX.
Still need to schedule my anatomy scan so we can see our little nugget:)

I feel great. I was just joking yesterday that if I hadn't missed my period I could be one of those girls on the show "I didn't know I was pregnant" compared to many girls I know, this has been smooth sailin. * knock on wood it stays like that

I was born in Lithuania (small european country). We moved to San Diego right before my 9th birthday. One of the greatest memories I have is just being a kid- running around outside, playing in the apple orchards till 11pm during the summers( it doesn't really get dark until then) and just having freedom. I really hope we can send our kids back for the summer to stay with grandparents or cousins so they can experience their childhood as DH and I did.
  • Week/fruit: 15 weeks - navel orange!

    Team: Pink!

Appointments: my next appointment is Feb 3.  I think they will be doing bloodwork and I am not sure what else.

Feeling: I'm feeling pretty good.  My quads have gone numb a few times but I read that it's most likely the position of the uterus so that has eased my worries a little bit.

QOTW: I was born in Indianapolis and moved at the age of two throughout the Midwest (St. Louis, Columbus, Milwaukee) until 8th grade when we moved to North Carolina.  My parents and sister moved back to Milwaukee shortly after I left for college at NC State but I stayed and have been here ever since!  I'm not sure about my favorite memory - I guess it would be all the time that my sister and I got to spend with cousins when we lived in Indianapolis, St. Louis and Milwaukee.

  • @sutavim2   I agree, when I first saw onion I laughed and then Ovia suggested a tangy pomegranate and I was sold ;). Ugh…I'm with you on being nervous for the results of our second tri screening. I just want Monday to be over as by then I will feel like no news is great news! FX for you for next weeks pap check up! I have had several "discrepancy's" with mine and they have always come back totally normal. I'll look forward to your update! Woo Hoo for continuing to feel great during your pregnancy!!

@snlinega  Yikes, your likely experiencing round ligament pain. Totally normal after fourteen weeks. Unfortunately there will still be a lot of growth and your Lo adjusting so you will likely keep experiencing many of the similar aches, and perhaps not just in the quads.

  • @DenaMaree‌ im in my 3rd year of veterinary school. I planned this baby so I wouldn't miss class we have mandatory summer school and the baby is due the following week after we finish.

Go back to school I started my masters in early childhood education but stopped for vet school (my fam owns daycares and they were forcing the job on me). It really isn't bad though just not what I wanted to do.

Apparently Birmingham which is 2 hours away have a medical hospital with all the glamour but im not driving 2 hours n labor. Montgomery allows midwives in the hospital and that is an hour from me sooo I may look into it but again seems a little far. Didnt realize having a baby in this little city was gonna b sooo complicated.
  • Week/fruit: 16 weeks-- avocado... and now I really want chips and guac.

Team: green.  I keep having stress dreams about having to teach a teenaged boy how to drive, so now I'm 50% sure I'm having a boy.  ;-)

Appointments: I have an appointment on Monday, and then I'm going to the dentist for a cleaning right after.  I had massive amounts of orthodontia when I was a kid, so I'm a little bit of a nut about my teeth.   I'm actually scheduled a cleaning every trimester because I'm so anal about how my gums feel.   Anyone else feel like their gums feel... gummy?

Feeling: better than I have the past few days.  It's exhausting to be this exhausted all the time!  But I'm looking forward to getting back to the gym now that all the New Year's Resolution folks have given up their goal to work out everyday.  This morning I felt a weird flutter in my lower right side (felt like someone playing the piano from inside), but since I'm only 16 weeks and a FTM I'm sure it's probably gas.

QOTW: I grew up on a little island in a town called Newport Beach, California, but now live on a weird compound in Hollywood/Los Feliz.  Even though we're a quick walk to the heart of hollywood, we're close enough to the hills and griffith park that we get all sorts of wildlife (mostly raccoons and coyotes with the occasional skunk).  I also went to boarding school on the east coast (right outside of DC), college in northern california (bay area), then I lived in the Czech Republic for a bit before going to law school in the midwest (missouri), so I feel like I've been all over.  My favorite childhood memory... I got a tiny sailboat when I was about 8 and my parents let me sail all over the harbor alone.  I loved feeling so free and safe at the same time.
  • @mrsbeachcat  hah hah, so cute that your having dreams of a teenager already. I am so convinced we will welcome a baby boys and yet I keep having dreams about holding a baby girl. We are excited to stay green the entire pregnancy. Having healthy gums/teeth are so important during pregnancy, so great that you take extra good care of yours. I don't have the patience to go to the dentist nearly that often but absolutely would if I ever had bleeding gums, etc. I COMPLETELY hear you about being over the exhaustion. This going to the restroom every hour all day is driving me crazy but until this week I was getting at least one four hour stretch overnight. Now this week I'm up every two hours overnight. BLAH!! You have such amazing world experience! I dream of one day living in another country! In the meantime I totally plan on taking our children on many adventure's both within and outside of the US!

    Team - finding out

Appt - next one is Feb 11, the anatomy scan!!

Rants/Raves - heartburn is coming back, ugh. I do have a sex drive though and that's been nonexistent for a very long time. DH is thrilled.

QOTW: born and raised in the same small Texas town. Didn't move until I was 22 to be with DH where he got a great job and learning opportunity. We're still in that area of his work, outside the Austin metro. Hate it down here and we intend on moving in the next 2-3 years.

  • @DenaMaree‌ I plan on going back to school in September after wards. It will definitely be difficult, especially pumping in between classes, but I'm dedicated to finishing my schooling! :) And at least I'll have that time off during the summer.
  • @DenaMaree‌ I highly recommend Prague if you get the chance. It has changed a lot since I lived there, but it's still gorgeous and affordable (once you get there). Plane tickets these days are insane!

Week/fruit: 16 Avocado. (Or dill pickle according to Ovia)
Team: finding out on Feb 24
Have you had a recent appointment (how did it go)/When is your next appointment:

I went on Tuesday. They couldn't find the heart beat with doppler so I got a bonus ultrasound. It was very blurry since I had already peed, but baby was rolling around in there and moving all over. Hb was 153. Next ob appt is feb 24 anatomy scan!

How are you feeling (rants/raves)? Aside from this wicked cold/sinus thing I've got going on, tired, sore back and hips.

QOTW: Where were you born? Where were you raised? Where do you currently live now? What's your favorite childhood memory?

I was born and raised in a small town in southern Alberta, Canada. I moved to NYC after I got my teaching degree, and taught kindergarten in Harlem for a couple years. While there, I met dh. We did the immigration thing and got married in Feb 09. I now live in upstate ny (near Albany).

As for a favorite childhood memory, I think I have to say camping in the summer with our cousins. 3weeks,4 adults, 6 kids, 2 dogs, 2 campers and a tent. Hours upon hours spent fishing. Best part of being a kid.

Have you had a recent appointment (how did it go)/When is your next appointment: next appointment is Feb 9 and we will have a Gender reveal party Feb 15
How are you feeling (rants/raves)? I feel like everyhing inside is moving to make way for my growing tummy and growing baby!

QOTW: Where were you born? Where were you raised? Where do you currently live now? What's your favorite childhood memory? I was born in Detroit, Michigan. I was raised outside of Detroit and now live in Dearborn Heights, Mi.

My fav childhood memory was growing up with 4 other brothers and sisters. I love our big family!
  • Week/fruit: 17/ onion

    Team: BLUE x 2!

Appt: I had an appointment on Tuesday (since I'm having twins I'm considered "high risk" so I have an ultrasound once a month). During the ultrasound they were able to tell us the sexes and we were actually surprised to hear two boys becausd for some reason we were convinced we were having one of each haha. My next appt is the 20 week but I haven't scheduled it yet.

Rants: I have a terrible cold that is kicking my butt. I'm super tired and my stomach hurts from coughing. I went to my reg doc today and she gave me an inhaler and told me to keep hydrated, use steam to try an clear up and drink honey/lemon tea.

Raves: Nausea is pretty much gone :). Also, at my ob appt Tues we found out that our baby boys are nice and big & healthy and I have only gained 4lbs since I got my bfp!!! I'm going to keep trying to eat healthy & keep my fingers crossed everything keeps going well.

QOTW: I was born on Long Island, NY & moved to Putnam County (a little over an hour north of NYC) when I was in kindergarten. I went to school near Albany and me and dh moved back to Albany shortly after we began dating. We moved back to Putnam County about 7 yrs ago & now I live in the same town I grew up in haha.

Favorite childhood memory are definitely summers with my family. I have one sister & two brothers and my parents used to pack us up in the car, often while we were asleep in the middle of the night b/c of my dad's crazy NYPD schedule and we would either head to Long Island to visit my mom's family or up to Troy, NY, where my dad's family spent the summer at the family summer house. My sister and I would wake up and keep our eyes closed & try and guess where we were by the sounds and smells. :x
  • The whole onion/pomegranate thing was cracking me up, made me think of The Bachelor this season.. If you watch it then you know what I am talking about ;)

Week 17: Onion (SO says "How do you go from an avocado to an onion?" lol)

Appt: hmmm, can't remember right this second... does PG brain progress with each one? Haha

Rants/Raves: Well I spoke too soon last week because now heartburn has reared it's ugly head.. Love my Zantac!
Pretty sure we've settled on a name for this LO (Eden Grace) and I am so happy because I LOVE it... Never even considered Eden before in previous PGs (which ended up being boys anyway) but when I heard it this time I could not get it out of my head.. That was a sign to me :) and Grace is after my grandma whom I love dearly

QOTW: Born, Raised, Currently live and will probably die in a suburb near Dayton/Cincinnati Ohio area lol... Lots of favorite childhood memories but I'd say it's a toss between singing & dancing around with my mom for fun or my grandparents telling silly stories around the breakfast table

  • @indiejavamama3‌ yay another ohio person. I still claim Ohio! Please tell me you have been to cedar point. I try to explain to ppl that having the best amusement park in the world in your backyard is a blessing and curse. I refuse to go to other parks cuz there over priced and the rides put me to sleep. I typically go every summer and have been for as long as I can remember. This year im pretty sure I will miss it lol.

Have you had a recent appointment (how did it go)/When is your next appointment: I had one on 01/21/15, it was the first sonogram. It was amazing, I wanted to cry. My next one is one 02/05 for the results of the sonogram.
How are you feeling (rants/raves)? I have been feeling very emotional. I haven't told my family yet that we are expecting. I am not close with them has I would like and I don't want this to be an excuse, I would like them to be involved in my life because me and not just for the baby. I had a huge fight with my brother and it ended with us shouting, I fell on the floor, and it brought back all these memories from childhood of when we had physical fights. I didn't look good afterwards when I was younger. My brother is 9 years older than me. I really feel this is the end of my relationship with my brother. I don't think it is healthy for me or my baby to be surrounded in that environment. I don't want to talk to my brother anymore, I don't think anything good comes from it. Afterwards I had so much pain in my stomach due to the stress I was in. I was so worried that something could have happened to my little "peanut." At this point in my life nothing matters to me but the wellbeing of my unborn child. I am so mixed with emotions.

QOTW: Where were you born? Where were you raised? Where do you currently live now? What's your favorite childhood memory? Born in a Manhattan hospital, raised and still live in the Bronx. Memory: sometimes before dinner my dad would go to the store to get garbage bags for house and he would ask if I wanted to go. And we stop to get pizza before get home. We throw the evidence out before we got home, so my mom wouldn't know. I loved our pizza stops.

  • @mnj05 So hope Feb 11th comes quick for you! Sorry heartburn is rearing its ugly head, I totally feel for you! Woo Hoo for finding your sex drive, I know DH will be grateful if/when I get mine back ;). Love Love Love Austin!! My bestie is there and I love getting their for a visit!

@iteachkids81 Love those bonus ultrasounds! I can’t wait until my twenty week to get to finally see our LO again. Hope your cold is clearing up!! How miserable to have on top of the normal pregnancy symptoms. My DH’s family has a cabin along a river and I am so excited for the babies Grandpa, Uncles and especially Daddy to get to go fishing with our LO!

@qtjo5 So excited for your gender reveal party!! Looking forward to hearing all about it! Family is so important, so great that your LO will have a beautiful relationship with family!

@bnk2012 So many Congrats on team BLUE X 2! Hope your feeling better!! Cold and Flu season sucks, but on the plus side your precious bundles will be born after the season is over so less risk of them catching the viruses before they can be vaccinated at six months! Bye Bye Nausea, YEY! What a beautiful memory!! Are you and your Sister still close?

@indiejavamama3 I hadn’t even thought of the reference to Bachelor until you mentioned it, so funny!! I’m a Bachelor junkie!! I boycotted last season but i’ve definitely been enjoying this season!! So glad you were able to get zantac and it’s improved your heartburn! Eden Grace is so beautiful!! Have you started planning your nursery?

@MaddyZ15 Congrats on a beautiful first sonogram! Sorry things are tough with your family, I can completely understand why having them a part of your life for you and not just your LO would be important! Sending you hugs! It sounds like you are focused on whats best for both You and your LO which is whats most important!

@Cytherea21 Ugh..pregnancy headaches can be tough. Most times they are stress headaches or due to dehydration. Especially as you progress in your pregnancy your LO will be taking a lot of your nutrition, including liquid intake, so upping both your food and liquids is important.

  • @DenaMaree‌, I'm lucky-my family is pretty close, my sister, brothers & I all get along. My sister, who is only 18months younger than me, already has 4 kids-ranging from 9yrs-1yr old-2 boys & 2 girls so my boys will have plenty of cousins & plenty of hand me down clothes :)

    Week/Fruit: Week 17/Onion

    Team: Green (for now!)

Appointments: I have my third prenatal appointment next Wednesday, Feb. 4th. At my last appointment, hubby got to hear the heartbeat for the first time <3. I'm scheduled for my first ultrasound on Feb. 17th (when I will hopefully be switching teams!).

Feeling: I'm feeling alright...my nausea is finally starting to go away and I'm showing! 3 days ago, nothing, and suddenly BAM! Baby bump. I've already bumped heads with my mom and I fully anticipate doing the same with my MIL (they're very...opinionated). I'm dreading telling both families that I'm not allowing anyone in the delivery room with me. I know I'm in for a fight when that happens...

QOTW: I was born in Patuxent River, MD. I was raised in several states since I'm a Navy brat (and damn proud). I lived in MD, HI, FL, OK, TX (some of these places more than once. I currently live in Delaware, where my husband grew up. Most of my favorite childhood memories are of my mom reading to me. She would sit in a chair and read Narnia, or Lord of the Rings, or whatever, and I would monkey around under the plastic table we used for lessons.
