Re: High Risk?

  • Congrats on your boy :) We are expecting our first boy and it's very exciting!! Although I am not high risk, I am a High Risk Maternity RN so feel free to ask questions

  • @HayesRN13 how do we know your a nurse. We don't really know you. OP I would suggest asking all of your questions regarding your high risk pregnancy to your actual Dr.

I am high risk and would never ask an Internet stranger my questions.
  • I'm considered high risk, FTM expecting twins. But I'm as low risk as a high risk patient can be apparently.
  • I'm expecting twins. I'm 35 years old :) and I had preeclampsia at the end of my first pregnancy.
  • At my last appt my doc calculated my risk and said anything over 30% was considered a higher risk and I was a 47% due to some health issues.. so far so good though with all the scans and tests :D
  • High risk due to 2 losses, Factor 5 Leiden, being 37, and autoimmune dieaese.
    • Married 6/1/2012
    • BFP #1 - 11/17/2012 -  MC 12/10/2012
    • BFP #2 - 2/12/2013 - EDD 10/17/2013 - DD Born 10/10/2013
    • BFP #3 - 1/29/2014 - Ectopic pregnancy discovered 1/31/2014
    • BFP #4 - 9/28/2014 - EDD 6/4/2015 - DS Born 5/31/2015

  • I am. I have antigen e antibodies and DH is positive for EE.
  • High risk here due to my DS #1 being 10# and having shoulder dystocia at birth and had to literally be pulled out of me.

This time around they're treating me for GD as well.

You would probably love watching the daily bump on YouTube or missy Lanning on YouTube with her pregnancy weekly updates from her last pregnancy. She had a bicornute uterus. She recently has had surgery to fix it and I believe her and her husband Bryan will be trying for another baby this year as well. Her story sounds somewhat similar with yours.

  • Hey :) I am high risk due to a marginal umbilical cord insertion coupled with the loss of baby B to vanishing twin syndrome this pregnancy , two previous pregnancies with gestational diabetes, two miscarriages, premature rupture of fluids at 35 weeks with DS1 that resulted with him being in the NICU unfortunately, and preterm labor with DS2 at 33 weeks that I am so thankful they were able to stop. But all and all I trust my doctor and have two healthy precious little boys and one little boy on the way. Congrats mama on your baby boy too!!
  • I am high risk because I have a are blood disorder called methemoglobinemia. Since there are only 139 of us there is very little known about pregnancy and methemoglobinemia, I'm on mostly bedrest and just finished being in a 12 day coma but baby Eva is doing just fine. I go back to Duke in a couple weeks to come up with a birth plan and I continue to get blood transfusions. It's scary most of the time but when shit really hits the fan I'm usually in a medical coma so it's a lot more scary for everyone else. Luckily Eva's father is not a carrier so she will not have the full blown disorder, only a half marker from me which can be easily managed since I know most of the triggers to avoid. 20 weeks and 2 days and this poor gets has been through the ringer!

  • 3 losses last year. Almost died giving birth to my son went into cardiac arrest and got a very rare infection when trying to deliver my son that caused my heart rate to sky rocket and very high fever to where my sons head started swelling while pushing. This pregnancy so far so good small calcium deposit on my babies heart but dr says she isn't worried about him. Dr is only worried about my labor going south again but have been very active this pregnancy with the gym and diet so maybe that will help keep everything in order.

  • I am due to having Sjogren's,an autoimmune disease, but so far everything is going well! A/S next week so I'll an update then.
  • I'm high risk also I have bicornate uterus DD is 9 and have had 4 miscarriages since delivering my DD I'm now 19wks with a little boy but he is in one side of my uterus so being checked a lot to ensure he does not run out of room but even just knowing I'm high risk makes me worried a lot that something is going to happen x hate feeling this way I pray this baby will be ok and grow to term without any serious complications x
  • Thanks for all the responses ladies..it's been a crazy week with the twins :/ Almost 3 and going on 13!!!! Grrrr!!!! At my last scan little man was measuring 1week ahead and doing great..20weeks scan on Monday to see how big he is! Good luck to all you mamas!

@ the nurse- thank you for your offer but my best friend is actually a delivery nurse and we have a few other good friends who are a nurse in the maternity or neonatal area :)
  • High risk due to nueroginic bladder, multiple lose, self cathing daily (constant exposure to bacterica and infections) and an immune disorder. Oh and now I apparently have an infection that is so bad it has a resistance to all but one antibiotic. Which isnt safe to take. How does that even happen?
  • I am high risk because I am 41 and this is my first. All has gone really well so far. Starting to feel baby kicks it is amazing!:)
  • High risk due to hypertension and type 2 diabetes (wasn't diagnosed till after I was pregnant). This is my first pregnancy, praying everything goes smoothly.
  • I ended up with a regular OB and a high risk doctor due to a false positive panorama test. Baby is perfectly healthy but I'm still seeing the high risk doctor for my big scans/appointments because their people are overall more knowledgable and careful. I love having two doctors that can help me if need be!
  • @dedebush02‌ - while I agree that OP should get her final word from her doc. We know that @HayesRN13‌ is a nurse because of discussions had before you joined. If you do a quick search on here you can see who the nurses are on the June 15 board - I think there are about three of them.
