Hey ladies!
Hope everyone is well! I missed you all last week. I expect some of the regulars have now had their little ones? Congrats! Can't wait to hear how everyone is.
I hope I'm not being redundant here, but for those of us who are still left...
- How many weeks?
- Treatment/Regimen?
- Any changes, updates, burning questions?
- QOTW: What are you enjoying as your greatest stress-reducer/reliever these days?
Re: GD Check-In 1/20
@HailsMom how are you managing? @catladytx, what about you? @dbride2006, how are your numbers?
Also, after last week's question about whether it is advisable to switch from glyburide to insulin 2 weeks prior to delivery (due to some research that indicates higher rates of hypoglycemia among neonates born to mothers on glyburide over insulin), neither my OB nor the doctor at the diabetes clinic said that it mattered. The key, they said to me, was that my sugars were controlled, especially in the last week of pregnancy. Perhaps those higher rates of hypoglycemia are because glyburide doesn't always work for women? Anyway, they don't seem to care what I'm on as long as my numbers are within the range they set. @CantoDeAmor259
1. 37weeks 3 days
2. Glyburide 1.25mg at bedtime - check sugars 4x day
3. The twice weekly appointments are wearing a little thin. That and the OB pressuring me to get internal exams at every appointment. They want to induce anyone with GD at 38-39 weeks, I agreed to 39 weeks unless there is an actual medical reason to go sooner. If I'm not being induced until 29 weeks, there is no reason to do an internal now.
Oh and I had a growth scan last week - little man went from measuring 3 weeks ahead to now only measuring about a week ahead! YAY!
4. Probably not something I should admit to on a GD check-in thread - but my stress reliever right now would be Mint-Chocolate Chip Milk Shakes from Baskin' Robins. Thankfully since it's mostly just my fasting numbers that are troublesome, this hasn't been an issue for my GD yet.
@nyclo can you see if they will let you cut your glyburide in half? If your numbers are that low, it might help you find a better balance.
Feb'15 November Siggy Challenge:
2. 500 mg Metformin + testing 4 times a day.
3. Had my first BPP last week and he is doing well, measuring 6 lbs.
4. Just being able to relax since life has slowed down. Actually resting when my daughter is at preschool!
Absolutely cannot wait to have a caramel machiato once this little man gets here
2) Testing FBS then either one or two times after
3) At my doctor's appt, I was 1cm (past two weeks was 0). It is fun to see the progression. Have had contractions but not enough-I think work people are keeping a REALLY close eye on me-haha
4) stress reliever-chocolate chip ice cream before bed. Other than that-I am a ball of stress-especially with a sick 16 month old
Treatment/Regimen?still the same, 2.5 glyburide at night and testing 4xs a day
Any changes, updates, burning questions? I've been doing a poor job at testing during the afternoon after lunch and sometimes at night. Been sleeping really crappy so I tend to take a nap before getting the boys from school. My doc didn't seem too worried about it. I finally started the bpp because he was not cooperating for nst. I refused further growth scans though, just my own personal opinion and thoughts on how inaccurate they are. He was measuring in the 74% at 30 weeks so I'm not really concerned. My doc didn't fight me on it at all. I have zero plans to be induced at 39 weeks and won't be doing any cervical checks until I decide that I want to consider induction, which will probably be after the 41 week mark. I'm going for a vba2c so I want and it's in my best interest to go as naturally as possible. Baby boy has flipped back to head down and dropped a bit (he flipped head up at 34 weeks). I've been feeling a bit off the last few days with some pronomonal labor on and off so I'm hoping he holds out for a few more weeks but I am kinda hoping he comes on his own around 39/40 weeks. My doc has been pretty supportive of my birth plan and what I want to achieve.
QOTW: What are you enjoying as your greatest stress-reducer/reliever these days?
Honestly, sleep. I'm so exhausted right now. The Chiro has been a huge help for me with stress and sleeping. I've had a headache every day for the last couple, and it's from not getting adequate sleep. Def hitting that miserable home stretch over here!
And yogurt. I've been on a Greek yogurt kick since discovering the ones that are only 8-9 carbs. I love it!
