Anyone else?

I had a midwife appointment this morning and ended up passing out at the session. My little girl seems to be pressing on a lot of nerves on my back which my body clearly doesn't like and it's been affecting the rest of me. I know dizziness comes with the pregnancy territory in the third trimester but never experienced any up till now I've been lucky in that respect! My midwife gave me some advice and refered me for physio to help and gave me some positions to be sitting in to help etc, all tried but nothing seems to be helping as of yet! Anyone else relate who have any tricks which may help?

  • Nice hot bath to soothe the back ache, I haven't had any dizzy spells but keep hydrated and try to relax. How many weeks are you? @flyinghigh89‌
  • @linpinup I'm 36+4 days so haven't got long to put up with it otherwise, I'd just like to be able to drive my car without the chance of passing out at the wheel ha! I've been asleep now all afternoon and feeling a bit better, I just wish a different position was a bit more comfortable for her than squashing the nerves of my spine! Thanks @Xoxolicia‌, I won't ever ignore advice to sit and rest more, I like hearing that from the midwife and doctor!
  • I've passed out once but now that I know what it feels like I've been able to stop it before it gets to that point. If I get dizzy, my heart feels like it's racing and I suddenly start to feel warm I know I need to lay down (or at least sit where I can recline) right away. The last thing that happens is that I get tunnel vision, then I'm out. I've only actually passed out the once and gotten to the tunnel vision point one other time but recovered before I actually passed out. I just lay or recline and take long deep breaths whenever I start to get symptoms. So far, it has always subsided after a few minutes but I figure if I am going to pass out at least I will be laying down and avoid a fall.

It is totally random when it happens to me. I am still very active but it seems to have nothing to do with activity level. It has always happened to me when I am being fairly inactive (i.e. Sitting in church, folding laundry, sitting at ob appt). It's been happening since the beginning of third tri. Other than that I've had no problems and actually feel pretty well.

  • I've been noticing I've been dizzy lately but haven't fainted. Yuck..hoping you get some answers!

  • @mamabisme‌ the same is what happened to me today, I was glad I was already in the midwives office and I was also lead down having an examination when it actually happened, it's a lot worse when lying down its hard to get comfy in any position. I've never passed out in my life so was very weird feeling how it happens. Good news is baby is all fine and healthy though! Hope the same goes for you through the rest of your pregnancy :)
    Thankyou @amack22‌!
  • It really is crazy! I'm thankful that I have been able to avoid it actually happening most of the time. I just keep telling myself I'm getting close. We shouldn't have to deal with this much longer.
