Am I missing something?

Was just reading that abandon ship message?  WTH is going on?  I just stick to this board so I have no clue what is going on outside of our little group.  I would think having paid moderators would be possibly a good thing?  I will say I have no idea how one even got to be a moderator but I do know on my BMB when I was pregnant with my son the Moderator was just one of the snarky girls that posted frequently and created badges of honor stating how bitchy they were.  
I come on here to realate to other women around my own age and in my situation.  I don't get the mass drama going on?

    I actually can't handle all of this Bump drama - I have real life drama that fills my life enough - the bump was an outlet.

    I don't think this group will be impacted because it is drama and snark free.  Other boards, especially Parenting and BMBs, are a lot more impacted.  Lots of drama.  From my understanding there have been a lot of bannings (some uncalled for), mods were de-modded for no reason and given no warning.  Several people got upset and started purposely violating the TOU as a way to show that these new guidelines are stupid.  The entire Parenting board got deleted.  All history gone not just the posts that violated the TOU.  It's been a crazy few days all around.

    Meh.. I hate internet snarkiness and drama... Some people must have really boring lives or are really fruatrated with their livea if they come to the internet to stir up snark and drama... Whatever it was, didn't affect the boards I frequent so I don't care. As for paid mods - TB should have had paid mods to begin with IMO.

    It affected Working Moms indirectly. I guess some of them frequented the Parenting board, so they left. So right now I'm straddling both boards. But yeah, I don't get the idea that paid mods are terrible. I'm not a terrible lawyer just because I'm paid. And a few months ago there was apparently huge drama on the SAHM board bc they all hated their unpaid mod. So the site can't win for losing.
