Preeclampsia questions

Hi All,
Just went to my 24w check and my doctor found protein in my urine she also said my blood pressure is high. I have to do a 24 hr catch to check but she's worried about preeclampsia. I went down the rabbit hole with Google and now I'm terrified. It's so weird because I've felt great this pregnancy. I have no idea what to expect or how to deal with this. Has anyone dealt with this in the past or currently?

    Just want to give you ::Hugs:: 

    Not trying to scare you, just give what little I know on the subject, My cousin just delivered twins via c-section at 35 weeks due to pre-eclampisa. I'm not sure what the protocol is when you are this early in pregnancy though. PE can be scary, her organs were starting to shut down and she felt fine. She had no idea except she went in for a regular check up and her BP and blood work/urine came back weird.  Wish I could give more advice but that is all I know. What is important is that your doctor has caught it and hopefully can take steps to take care of you and baby.  ::hugs:: Hope all goes well.

    Thank you. I did my 24 hour urine collection yesterday so now I'm waiting on the results. Praying hard for good news.

    I know most pre-e stories are pretty scary but I just wanted to share my experience.

    At my 32w appt with my last pregnancy my BP was 145/90 and my protein was +3. I did a 24-hour collection and my protein count was at 1500 mg (5 times the maximum). Since I had no other signs of pre-e other than the BP and protein my OB started me on meds for my BP and had me do weekly blood tests and 24-hour urine collections. Other than rising protein count I never had any other issues and my bloodwork looked perfect so he even allowed me to return to work at 38w (at my request, I'm a teacher). We finally induced at my due date when my protein count was almost 3000. I know that everyone's experience is different but I just wanted to let you know that you can have high BP and high protein output without necessarily having other complications.

    It's good that you're feeling great, hopefully that's a positive sign. Anyway, lots of T&Ps that you have a healthy pregnancy!

    Update: I haven't heard anything from my OB which is annoying but I went to my regular doc for something unrelated. My reg doc said my levels were at 180 well below the 300 max which is such a relief. She said they will continue to monitor me to see how it goes. I'm so relieved and doing my best to stay on top of eating healthier and lowering my stress. Thank you all for the positive vibes.
