If you are still doing purees, and are making your own at home to freeze/store, what kind/size of containers are you using?

I've looked at the oxo ones but they are expensive. I've looked at some others on amazon, including some from a company called Sage. Have you found anything good and cheap that you like?

My nutter butter mom saves containers and cups from fast food places (literally, she will wash solo cups in the dishwasher she's so frugal and drink from the same Chick fil A cup for days - she washes them). She sent me home the other night with 6 four ounce containers that they got from KFC (I don't even know...) to use for baby food partitioning.

We don't use purees, but we have Rubbermaid storage containers for our food and the "snack" containers (.5 cup) are what we use for yogurt, applesauce, etc. I don't know the cost of the oxo ones, so don't know about the price comparison.

If I'm freezing I just pour it in ice cube trays and then transfer to ziplocs the next day. If not, I transfer it to take and toss containers from target (in the baby feeding section). They hold four frozen one ounce cubes or 8 oz. fresh/thawed purée. It was only a few dollars for 6 -8 of them and they've held up well even after running them through the dishwasher. I've yet to toss any.

Thanks for the input! I was shopping on amazon today, and the oxo sets are pretty expensive, but the Sage ones looked good. I just don't know if the cost will be effective with the amount of time he'll be doing purees.
