Long Night

Morning Girls! I'm glad to be able to log on this morning and say that my LO is still safely cooking.  Yesterday when I went for my NST he wasn't responsive enough. I think he fell asleep during the second half of the test and I couldn't get him to wake up. So the doc sent me to the hospital for extra monitoring. Hubby couldn't be there b/c we had another commitment he had to attend for both of us. So they hooked me up to the monitor and did an ultrasound. Jaxon looked good on the ultrasound. We waited for 3 hours to get a heart rate acceleration! He was moving a wiggling but not enough to accel his heart rate. The nurse said she wasn't concerned as long as there weren't any decels (which there weren't) she was just about to release me when he finally moved enough to get a few accelerations on the monitor. Whew.

Not sure why I shared this story but just thought I'd say I'm thankful he's doing well this morning.  Has anyone else experienced this? I'm kinda thinking he is just a chill kid, anyone else have a little like this?

Happy Hump day!

Re: Long Night

  • I've had a few bad NST's... So sorry you are having to go through this too!

Hopefully it just means our kids will be relaxed :)

  • My Little Man will sometimes have one or two quiet days in a row, and it used to freak me out.  I've called the nurses line in Labor and Delivery in a total panic before because he just wasn't moving, no matter what I did.  I've had to learn to just expect the quiet days and to not totally freak myself out when they happen.

Hope today is better for you!

  • I had one a couple weeks ago but my little guys heart rate was too high. I went back a couple days later and all was normal :) I think it's just their way of saying "got ya mom!"
  • Thanks ladies! Its so nice to know I'm not alone! They kept telling me at the hospital it wasnt a big deal but I was quite curiious how often this happened to others.  Last night wasn't fun even though somehow I was confident he was fine.  I agree with what several of you said, I'm thinking (and DESPERATELY HOPING!!) we end up with a chill kiddo. :-)

  • I'm glad to hear everything is going fine! I definitely don't have chill babies in utero. Both my first and this one move non-freaking stop.

BUT I can say that while my first baby is super active and likes to be on the move, she has a very laid back personality in that she easily adapts to change and is generally a very happy toddler. So she's actively chill :)
  • Really glad everything turned out for the best! Have a good day, momma
