How is your LO doing at might?

My twins (full term) go to bed at 8pm, but both still wake 2-3 times per night each. They are in separate bedrooms. We have tried CIO and it worked well for a little while, but then they got sick and we reverted to giving them bottles whenever they woke up. I work full time and being up 6 times a night is killing me.
They take one AM nap and one PM nap. We have a bedtime routine and they go down easy...... But then they are up all night!

Re: How is your LO doing at might?

  • Have you checked the sleep easy thread? I think there's some good advice there.

I'm not new. I just hate The Bump.

  • Yes. We did sleep easy and sort of combined it with some of the thoughts from CIO.
Just really struggling right now. I am beyond tired!!

  • I guess if you're giving mixed messages at night (some times feed, sometimes soothe, sometimes do nothing), it's not going to make the situation better. Go back to being consistent.
  • I'm sorry you are so tired and frustrated. It's hard I come up with a plan when so tired. I don't have much advice, especially with twins, as we bed share and I nurse or give we a pacifier when she wakes up. Sending support.
  • I'm sorry :( they need to get enough calories during 24 hrs so try feeding more often during the day and give proteins such as chicken :-) then if you know they had enough cals just let them cry it out they will eventually tire and go back to sleep :) it's not easy and a bit heartbreaking but at this age it's ok to do it.
Ours goes to bed between 730-8 and sleeps until 5-545 sometimes he breafly wakes and cries and then continues on with sleep.
  • My lo will wake up in the motn. I know she isn't hungry; usually she just seems like she just can't get comfortable. She will rub her eyes and give a look like she is saying "why didn't that work?"

If she is sick, i feed her. I know nothing else will work, and chances are if she is sick, one of us is too. If she gets overtired, then i leave her be for a bit. I feel like being there can just get her more overstimulated. I follow the wait 5 minute rule, and will rub her back if she is still crying.

Honestly, i still feel like i have no idea what i am doing. It is mostly winging it.

Being with my LO rocks! DD born 6/13/14.

  • We did the SleepEasy and it worked well... until LO got her first teeth.  Then we went back to SleepEasy... then LO got sick.  Back to SleepEasy... Sick again, then teeth, and now yet another freakin cold.  So I am pretty much a zombie, just trying to get her to feel better and calm down at night by feeding, rocking, breaking all of the rules.  Sleep training Shmeep Training when your baby always has something going on!

  • LO is all over the place with sleep. We have never made it through the night, but we are getting longer stretches so I think that is a win. I'm with sarahs11. There always seems to be something.
  • I was all pro sleep training but my LO showed me different. We tried a lot of different options, CIO, sleep easy but every baby is different and sometimes you just have to follow their lead. I wouldn't expect it working with twins but we bed share and I breastfeed. Right now, 7 months , it's 1 feed a night. Sometimes none. On a bad day with teething 2-3 sessions. There is always something :-( good luck
  • Have you tried using EOs on them before bedtime?  I know it sounds crazy, but we put a mixture of Young Living Peace & Calming plus Lavender oil (all diluted with coconut oil) on the bottom of our daughter's feet before bed and it made a HUGE difference.  You can message me if you want more info about it : )
