Sudden Problems

My son is 19 months old who very rarely ever cried .. all of a sudden all he does is cry and want to be held - daycare says he is fine throughout the day but whenever he is with me or his dad he just whines.   He is just getting over an ear infection, switching to a new daycare -- could this be the problem??  We are also having trouble at night with him now not wanting to go to sleep and screams at the sight of his crib.  

any advice or tricks are greatly appreciated..

    I think it may likely be the daycare.. My 22 month daughter was a happy friendly girl. Then new daycare started and now she whines when strangers say hello, wants to be carried everywhere, refuses to do things like wash hands, put shoes on, etc (things she had no problems with before). She generally is just more clingy, more tempremenral, and driving me up the wall!!! I'm trying to be patient and remind myself that she is not even 2 years old, everyone is telling me it will pass with time...
