STM here with RCS scheduled for Monday. Although this would be my 2nd c-section, it's been almost 4 years and the memory has faded. Just wondering how your recovery has been going so far?
How long since your c-section?
What's been the toughest part so far?
Do you have any older kids/toddlers and if so how hard has that made recovery?

Re: C-section mamas - how's your recovery going?
How long since your c-section? 12 days
What's been the toughest part so far? It's been pretty smooth sailing since leaving the hospital. I'm afraid to try on regular jeans near my incision though so I'm still wearing maternity jeans even though they're getting baggy on me.
Do you have any older kids/toddlers and if so how hard has that made recovery? No older kids

What's been the toughest part so far?
Just not being able to do chores like I use to. Now everything's taking a little longer which is annoying more than anything.

Yes its hard cause I can't lift my kids
Edit because I can't read.

I'm a FTM so getting a schedule established at home n just trying to figure out what I'm doing lol. I'm on oxys, prescribed every 3hrs but I take it more like every 5-6hrs when I'm feeling pain.

No
How long since your c-section? 19 days
What's been the toughest part so far? With the combo of breastfeeding and sore nipples, I've cried some days because I have pain in my incision and nipples, and it was hard just getting out of bed to feed LO...especially in the hospital. But I am able to use my stomach muscles now at least to get up. Also, finding pants in my closet that don't sit right where my incision is.
Do you have any older kids/toddlers and if so how hard has that made recovery? Yes...my 7 year old. She's very active, so it's just been hard with her jumping around me...and there have been a couple of close calls where she almost hit my incision!
I know being home will be harder with not picking up my boys, but we tried to prepare them for mommy's ouchie. I can still snuggle on the couch!
Now we're waiting on our miracle baby ... a little GIRL!!!
What's been the toughest part so far? Leg/foot swelling, I feel like I've been beaten around the ankles with a baseball bat. Also needing to rest, Dr told me today that I need to take it much easier.

This is our first LO
Bright side: I've lost 20 of my 60 lbs gained so far! Belly bandit is helping a lot. A friend suggested taking weekly pics of my progress to help me feel better about my size. Also my hemorrhoids are pretty much gone since I never got to push.
The hardest part? Was the gas pain the first few days after surgery and the TERRIBLE got and leg swelling that lasted 2 weeks
These were my first (twins) :-)
I am feeling really good now, but it was much harder than many ppl told me theirs was. The skin on my stomach below my belly button still feels like pins and needles when its touched, but my incision doesn't hurt at all. Im also only 10lbs away from prepreg weight. I'm just glad the hard part of recovery is over now!
This was my first pregnancy. The hardest part was the first 2 days in the hospital trying to get in and out of bed.... The nurses were not always very good about keeping up with the pain meds. I was off the narcotics by day 3 and only took the motrin a few days longer than that. Was stiff getting up and down for about a week and a half afterwards.
My skin below my belly button down to my incision is tingly (not so much pins and needles) and sensitive to the touch and my DH doesn't quite understand not to be touching it. Overall I feel great though and thanks to BFing I am only 15 lbs away from pre-pregnancy weight (I gained 45 pounds).
Worst part for me is not being allowed to eat after surgery until I pass gas. Since it was an RCS I wasn't allowed to eat or drink at 12 midnight - surgery was at 930am. Also getting in and out of the bed while in the hospital was really painful top but like what PPs said you'll be glad you moved earlier became it'll speed up recovery.
Good luck and enjoy your new baby!
My incision hurt more today than any other day but I know I overdid it-laundry, lifting my 2 y/o up more than once, etc. I need to take it easy tomorrow. That's the toughest part, slowing down and letting my H do things. Or waiting for him to get things done that I asked him to do. Also, not being able to carry my 2 y/o up & down the stairs. He's a sweetheart and a Mommy's boy, and he gets it but forgets easily and says "carry me, pweeeeease Mommy!"
Thanks to all that responded and good luck to all that are still waiting for their RCS.
