Breast pump bag

what bag do you use for storing your breast pump? I want something that doesn't scream breast pump when I go back to work, but am not sure if just a regular bag will work or if you've found value in an actual breast pump bag (that seems over prices to me).

Re: Breast pump bag

  • I got a Nurse Purse on Zulilly. I like thr fact that the pump has a compartment on the side that zips open. It doesn't scream breast pump bag but still functions nice as one. I used a regular tote for a month and I got annoyed at having to dig the pump out and untangle the tubing.

  • I got one of the insurance pumps and it came with a giant flesh-colored bag.  It was not something I wanted to carry around.  I also didn't want to spend a lot of money on a pump bag so I just bought an insulated drawstring bag from amazon.  It fits everything I need.  The insulation isn't great but there's a fridge/freezer I can use at work so it's not an issue for me.
  • I just bought a new Vera Bradley.  The one I got was Get Carrried Away tote.  It's huge but I'm a teacher and I don't feel like bringing a bunch of bags to work so I'm carrying everything in this one and it will serve as my work bag/purse/pump bag.  I will probably transfer my pump to my closet every morning after I am done pumping until my break when I pump again, though, so I don't have to carry it around the whole day.

  • I got a 31 bag similar to the one posted above as a diaper bag for Christmas. Just stared using it today and I like it. Mine doesn't zip closed tho so i just use a little towel over the top..

  • When I bought my medela PIS it came in that awful black bag. I also hated that I couldn't pack it easily, like in a suitcase when traveling.

I'm glad it doesn't come with the insurance provided one. I'll just carry any tote I have here at home. But that said, I don't work so it won't need to be as functional as a working pumping Mama might want.

  • I used a regular backpack with mine it was great because I used it for everything that I needed to take to work including my lunch.  The 31 bags are also great I used one of those if I needed to go somewhere with my pump but didn't need everything that I would normally take with me to work.
