Charting Advice

Hi All-

I am currently on my first cycle post BCP. I've been using FF and taking a daily BBT at the same time every morning. I've also been keeping a close eye on CM, as we are not quite ready to TTC. I've got some conflicting symptoms trying to find my ovulation day. I've had 2 temp spikes this cyle, but predictable CM. FF made the guess (i.e., dotted line, not solid line) based on my BBT, but my CM indicates otherwise.

What do you find is the most reliable way to really determine ovulation? BBT or CM? This is my first time really charting and I'd like to get a sense of what really is important.

    Bbt is considered a primary sign, while cm, cp, opks, etc. are secondary. With additional months' of data, your fertile window will be more definite.

    CM is a secondary sign; check out the newbie blogs on the Trying to get Pregnant board - TONS of info there!!!

    Thanks everyone! I've had some conflicting signs, so I will definitely put more stock into the BBT!

I have heard BBT is the best way to determine however, you don't know you ovulated until after you have already ovulated so if you are not ready to conceive, maybe use the OPK for the first few months until you are able to see consistency in your BBT.

    Take these months prior to TTC to continuously chart and you'll start to see a pattern.
