Success after IF

family photography

How do you display photos at your home? We had a real family portrait taken and custom framed and now I'm having issues figuring out where to put it. We live in a bungalow, so no formal areas like a living room or a stairway in the front of the house and no fireplace either.

I'm also kind of weird about looking at pictures of myself on the wall. Right now I put it on the wall in our sunroom/foyer near a table with a few other framed pictures on. I know some people do big photo walls, but I don't know about that. I finally dug out one of our wedding photos that I had in a little frame that I stored away when A started walking and it had been damaged. I really need to get better at this.
IVF, acupuncture, meditation and a miracle.

Re: family photography

  • We have small ones in frames about the house on bookshelves etc. just 4x6 ones...for my birthday DH got one of the family printed on canvas and we have that one above our bed right now. Previously we did have a wedding one in a larger frame in our hallway. It was nice there because you could think about it in passing but it wasn't like you were sitting eating breakfast while looking at yourself.

  • I also feel weird about having pics of myself up in my house.  But we got a family portrait printed on canvas too, so it's gotta go somewhere.  Hallways and stairs are great places for things like that.

  • I was going to suggest hallways or stairs as well. Or your bedroom, if you want to keep it a private thing that no guests will see. But it seems like a nice family portrait should be on display :)
