What worked for you this week? Having a homemade shake for breakfast every morning.
What didn't work for you this week? Not eating enough.
GTKY: What is the most challenging part of your day in dealing with GD? Breakfast gets a little boring, but it's the only thing that works for me right now.
When were you diagnosed? 2 weeks ago What worked for you this week? Buying a ton of stuff to make salads so I could eat one salad a day for a meal. Also I discovered sugar free chocolate pudding and its suprisingly yummy! What didn't work for you this week? I have to remember to eat something small every two hours or my blood sugar levels really crash hard. GTKY: What is the most challenging part of your day in dealing with GD? Just coming up with meals to eat when all I crave is CARBS! I just want to eat bagels all day
What worked for you this week? Readjusting my diet and watching my carb intake a little more closely.
What didn't work for you this week? Having too many sour cream cheddar chips this afternoon. BTW, I never eat chips, but my husband had me try one and that turned into like 30. That spiked my blood sugar way up!! OOps.
GTKY: What is the most challenging part of your day in dealing with GD? Mustering the appetite to have my bedtime snack. I am never hungry for it, but my blood sugar gets out of whack without eating it. And I get hunger pains at like 3am if I don't have something.
Baby #1: EDD: 5/31/08 DD born sleeping due to severe preeclampsia at 22 weeks 1/26/08
When were you diagnosed? A week and a half ago What worked for you this week? Eating every couple hours to keep my blood sugar constant. What didn't work for you this week? Tomato soup and giant grilled cheese. I was so sad- I love grilled cheese
GTKY: What is the most challenging part of your day in dealing with GD? My fasting numbers in the morning are always a little high.
Question- I'm going on a work conference later this week. Anyone have any suggestions for snacks that worked for them while traveling?

What didn't work for you this week?
GTKY: What is the most challenging part of your day in dealing with GD? Right now -- I just have so many questions. Hoping the dietician gives me lots of info and ideas tomorrow.

String cheese or cheese and a few crackers works for me! You could also try cheese and apple slices, if that doesn't up your blood sugar too much. Celery and peanut butter is another good one.
What worked for you this week? Yogurt and fresh fruit
What didn't work for you this week? Things that are usually fine putting my levels just over.
GTKY: What is the most challenging part of your day in dealing with GD? Having to re think a lot of my food choices now due to the random level increase, it makes eating out very difficult too.
I am so glad you ladies are still doing this! Although I'm not super regular on TB I'm hoping you'll still have me when I can make the check in!
When were you diagnosed? 26 weeks I think (I'm 28)
What worked for you this week? I tracked all my food in My Fitness Pal and used Glucose Buddy to track my sugars. Having a 25-30 carb breakfast along with a good mid morning snack kept me on track.
What didn't work for you this week? The damn pizza snack at happy hour followed by stupid pulled pork. Damn you BBQ sauce.
GTKY: What is the most challenging part of your day in dealing with GD?
Getting enough blood for a reading. I've found that just the pinky and ring finger on my right hand work well. These little puppies are getting all bruised even though I rotate!
What worked for you this week? Too soon to tell. I meet with my dietician on the 27th so I don't have to start pricking my finger until then.
GTKY: What is the most challenging part of your day in dealing with GD? Everything is all so new still. I keep asking why me which I know is the wrong question to ask. I'm really anxious to meet with my dietician but the earliest appt. available is on the 27th. I wear a prosthetic so testing my blood sugar 4 times a day will certainly be a challenge. Not to mention having 5 less digits to check on will suck.
When were you diagnosed? I was diagnosed a week ago What worked for you this week? Limited breads and NO sugary foods What didn't work for you this week? Bagels and I got the whole wheat bagels GTKY: always worrying if the food I eat will make my sugars to high
Grr...usually it doesn't matter what I eat for dinner, just what I eat before noon. But tonight I took things too far. Apparently that means I can't have three pieces of bread and a ginger beer at dinner. Curses!
