Im close to 36 weeks and I'm feeling pressure...not sure what's going on but my stomach feels tight, idk if I should go to the hospital or wait it out...
It's probably Braxton hicks. However if you feel more than my doctor says 6-7 in one hour by timing them to go be seen in L&D. Pressure is normal, welcome to 3rd trimester. You can always call your doctor or L&D and talk to a nurse.
I have been timing them, about every 11-12 mins I feel the pressure is a little more...it's uncomfortable but I can handle it, I will give the doctor a call...worried it might be too early to go into labor...and how do u know the difference between Braxton kicks and regular contractions ( I'm a first time mom so this is all new to me)
@haboobti I am also a FTM but I've had braxton hicks explained as irregular and more uncomfortable than painful. Although I've had a few that were painful. Always call your doctor if you experience something like this or if you have any concerns of any kind. How long have they been 11-12 minutes apart? With you being able to time them like that and them be consistent it sounds like real contractions. But, like I said, I'm also a FTM and by no means a trained professional.
But since we need to be "nicer" around here... drink more water. Lots. Lay on left side for an hour. If the tightening feeling doesn't ease up go to the hospital is what I would do.
It has been like that for about an hr... And Ya they have been consistent but if I try not to think about it and I try to relax they have been going away...the pressure is still there tho...and Ya I have read about pregnancy and watched videos the whole time but still reading and actually experiencing are two different things...I just hope that the pressure fades away and I can sleep because I am not ready to have him yet...
If they are going away when you relax.. Sounds like BH to me. Real contractions get worse and don't go away when you relax. I've had BH for weeks daily. Pressure won't go away until after birth. In fact it probably will only get worse
What @usmcwife89 said. That sounds more like braxton hicks. I forgot to add that they'll go away if you get up and move around or with a warm bath/shower. But still call yoir doctor. We're not there to say for sure what you're experiencing and can't diagnose anything over the internet.
My mother explained true labor contractions like this, no matter what you do they don't go away. They stick around and get worse and nothing you do makes it better. Bring it up to your doctor and he or she will tell you when contractions are of concern. The pressure is probably just from baby but the fact that you can manage to relax and they go away sounds like BH.
But really, if you're concerned you should always call your doctor or your hospital's/insurance's nurses hotline. There's also some great info via Internet. Just make sure it's from a reputable website and not something like forum archives or yahoo answers.
Thank you ladies...all the advice helped calm my nerves, I think I was getting myself worked up from the pressure I was feeling ... I'm glad I'm feeling better and it's nothing serious
My pressure is unbelievable right now, constantly. I mean I feel like I've been kicked down there and it's bruised.35 weeks, 2nd child. This pregnancy has been completely different than my first time though. I also have been experiencing Braxton hicks (doctor confirmed). It's a achy/cramping feeling and my stomach gets rock solid! It's scary as we all don't want our babies to be born TOO early!
Re: Feeling pressure almost 36 weeks
Edit: words are hard for me

Just so you know you're not alone!
