Reassure me please.

I just had my a/s on Friday and had a voice mail from the hospital this morning that I need to go in for another u/s. The woman said "nothing wrong, just need some more angles" but I can't help but feeling like if nothing is wrong they wouldn't need more angles.

I just tried to call them to discuss / set up the next u/s but had to leave a message so now I'm spending my lunch break having a heart attack.

Doctors do not get paid to sugar coat and lie. They don't work for baby center. If they were concerned they would have just asked that you return their call. Seems as though she went out of her way to put you at ease. I say no worries. Keep us posted!!

Don't stress out if possible, they might just need a certain amount of shots even though the tech was happy with the scan the doctor might want more. Sending positive thoughts!

As pp have already said, the tech probably just didn't get all the shots the dr wanted. I'm sure everything is fine since they told you it was

I had my A/S 2 weeks ago and one of the first things the tech told me was that the baby isn't always cooperative when it comes to getting all the measurements that they need. She said it's very common to have to ask moms to come back in a week or 2 later to try again and to not be worried if they call and request that.

Don't stress! Our little guy wouldn't flip all the way over or stay still so they are doing another one at my next appointment to get a final shot of the bottom of his spine. They said not to worry since everything else looked good. Did they say everything looked okay after the first one?

I have to go in again too because my little girl was too wiggly for the tech to get proper measurements on a few of the shots. Everything's ok. If they thought something was wrong, they would have told you.

I had to go in twice my first pregnancy for A/S because they could not get good angle shots of baby's stomach. Everything was just fine and it was nice to see him twice.

Had my a/s on Friday and the tech said due to fetal position she couldn't get all the views of the heart they like to have. We saw the heart and all four chambers, just not the typical pics. She told me there was no reason to be concerned and my doc would let me know if I needed another scan. No need to borrow trouble. Sometimes the fetus just doesn't do what they need during that scan. Relax, in sure everything is fine!

Don't stress-I have to get another at my next appt because they still need to get 2 more shots of the heart since baby was being a little diva and the tech couldn't get the correct angle for those two pics. I'm sure everything will be ok for you.

I'm sure that it's nothing. I know (I really know) that the hardest part is not stressing, especially when there's nothing that you can do about it. Take a few deep breathes and think about a happy place (mine is usually on the beach sipping some drink that I can't have right now).

Ugh thanks everyone! I got in touch with them and we have rescheduled, and I asked her straight if there was anything concerning and my voice broke a little...she must have heard because she really quickly said "Oh no honey they just want a couple more shots, absolutely nothing to worry about."

I know, logically, that this happens and it probably has a lot to do with baby being a mover (the u/s tech was shocked I couldn't feel it, but honestly she was basically assaulting me with the little u/s wand sooo...what do you expect) but it is still a little scary.

Plus, our u/s techs aren't allowed to tell us anything - so while I am taking it as good that she said nothing to worry about - I'm sure they also aren't allowed to lie - there is still a little part of my brain freaking out. (It is the lab that called me back in not my doc.)

The u/s is scheduled for the 28th and I already had a follow up scheduled with my doc for the 27th so I'm going to keep my doctors appointment so that I can find out what I can that day and then go for the rest the next.

I agree with the other ladies.

1) they don't sugar coat anything for you.
2) Dr. Probably needed more pictures .
3) I think the tech would have brought up anything that they were concerned about.

If the person who left the message said there's nothing wrong, then there's nothing wrong. If there were, they most definitely would not leave you a message telling you a lie. Don't let pregnancy anxiety/hormones get the best of you.

I'm sure it's fine, I know she would have told you what was going on if there was anything beyond needing a few extra shots.

However, I would be freaking out too, it's in my nature. Try not to worry, worrying doesn't change anything!

I have to go back, too. We were a hair on the early side for the a/s so the doc just wants the baby to grow a little so he can see everything better. He said he didn't see anything that concerned him, though.

With DD2 I had to go back for better pics of her heart and face- they told me they couldn't rule out her having a cleft pallet looking at the pics they DID get. Everything was fine, but I was a hot mess during the 2 week wait to go back. This time my lil stinker had his hands in front of his face and he pack pushed into my placenta and they couldn't get the best angles or pics. Sooo back I go in 4 a weeks this time, but I'm not too concerned.

I worked at an OB office and this would happen occasionally and not because something was wrong (most of the time) usually the doctors are reviewing the photos and see that the techs didn't get enough shots or measurements. Doctors can be very picky (which is great!) and want more from the techs.
I'm sure you and baby are fine!

OP, I'm glad you got your next appointment scheduled and hope you are feeling reassured. I had my scan this past Tuesday and got a message Thursday saying I had to come back bc the baby's right kidney measured 4mm which by kaiser standards was abnormal (it's a soft marker for chromosomal issues), I was scheduled to fly to London Friday afternoon and was about to cancel bc I wanted to wait and see if there were any cancellations so Kaiser could fit me in (They did, Friday morning) I didn't sleep all night, freaking out, thinking there was something wrong. This is our rainbow baby after an ectopic and a miscarriage at 12 weeks and I was beating myself up thinking I had somehow done something wrong. So we go in and they remeasure (different department, this time with maternity specialists) and baby's kidney is now 2.4mm and he's super active and doing jazz hands and the maternal fetal specialist is like "don't worry, go to london, see you for your next regular appointment in 4 weeks, bye". I wouldn't wish the stress I had on anybody, so please just believe the doctor and know they are just being super cautious.

All 3 of my sister's babies required extra u/s because the shot wasn't clear or baby wasn't cooperative that day. No worries

Reassuring calm zenned out thoughts being sent your way. Please dont stress lovely lady. Medical staff are not allowed to bullshit , so if she said nothing wrong, then nothing is wrong.
