Sleeeeeep Regression :)

Oh for Pete's sake we are having another one. :)

This one is less painful because there has been no crying BUT...

For the last two weeks DD has been waking up at 4 something and chatting/bouncing/kicking/singing/playing her music box overandoverandoverandover for like 2 plus hours.  If I give up and get her up she is a little crabby and takes a longer nap and then does it again.  DH is better about ignoring her and EVENTUALLY she goes back to sleep but I tried it today and she was up from 415 to 700 and then slept from 700 to almost 930 and it threw the whole day off.

Zero crying.  Zero fighting sleep at nap or bedtime.  But a party for HOURS in the middle of the night.  SO annoying.  :) She did it at 15 months for like 6 weeks and at 18 months for like 3.  I am just trying to wait it out but it makes me second guess everything about our schedule, like is she napping too long or going to bed too early, etc etc etc.  Makes me crazy!

  • DS has been doing this lately too. He gets up and plays his music from his fisher price aquarium 2-6 times a night. I only notice it though because I am up nursing or he does it before we go to bed. Lately though when he wakes any time after 6 it becomes a talk show in his bed with his stuffies. I find it hilarious (though if it kept me up I would definitely not think it was so cute). The other day I over heard him wishing all his stuffies a Merry Christmas, lol! It's quite funny to hear howi his imagination works these days! I hope your DD sorts it out soon, or at least learns to do it a little quieter! Hang in there!

  • We were there last month! So far we've been better with a consistent bedtime, but who knows...
Our little Samosa arrives in January!
  • Yeah we just keep sticking to consistent bedtime (which she never fights thank God) and aiming for FAIRLY consistent naps and hoping that she kicks out of it!  She usually plays her music box a few times a night but usually does the rest silently so I am not used to the verbal free-for-all!

  • We are with you on the regression. I WISH T would stay in his room and talk/play. Oh no no, 5:30-5:40 comes and he comes into our room saying 'mommmyyyy!' He won't lay down in our bed (he will cuddle for a minute but then gets all excited and crazy) so I usually take him in his room and lay in bed with him as he cuddles, chats, plays with stuffies. This morning I actually laid him back down, kissed him and walked out and I scored 20 extra minutes of snooze time until he came in and yelled 'mommy, gotta poop!' We've also had no issues going to bed or down for a nap. I've tried playing with bedtime and it doesn't matter, he still has been waking up too early!!

  • @ambmama - your entire post is reason #eleventybillion that I want to keep DD in her crib (and diapers for that matter) forever.  I just telling DH, "OH MY GOD WHAT ARE WE GONNA DO WHEN THE NIGHTTIME DANCE PARTY IS NO LONGER CONTAINED?!?"

This my fear as well! We Put up a baby gate in her doorway. This way we don't close her door at night and she still can't get out!

B will definitely NOT stay in her room and play. She needs to be rescued by someone, preferably mama, immediately!
