Feeling exhausted at 7 weeks

Hi, I am 7 weeks 3 days and I am feeling extremely exhausted even if I take naps it does not seem to make a difference. If I don't constantly eat I get head aches , Is anyone feeling this way? I am supposed to start a new job first week of February but I don't think I will be able to work I feel sick and exhausted I but no morning sickness. I thought this would later on in my 3rd trimester.

It takes a lot of energy to create and sustain another life. You will probably find ways to get used to it or work around it, but exhaustion will be there your entire pregnancy.

No one can tell you how your body is going to react to your pregnancy, or for how long.

I would recommend educating yourself on your body and your pregnancy by reading a book and doing some research to see what is typical so you know what to expect/not expect. Symptoms come and go all throughout pregnancy. You may feel one way one day, and the next feel completely different.

I read that everyday of pregnancy is like running a full marathon (26.2 miles) without actually having run the race. Some women are sick or tired all through the pregnancy, some aren't. Every woman and every pregnancy is different. I know it sounds impossible, but try to get a little exercise in, even if it's just walking around the block. And eat high protein foods and stay away from junk food and carbs. Best of luck and congrats!

You just never know what symptoms and how your body will balance the changes that are currently taking place. Buckle in its a really long 9 months. Good luck!

I'm 12 weeks now and I was in the same boat. The extreme tiredness started around week 6 and is finally starting to get better now. Not only was I exhausted, but I would toss and turn all night and get maybe 3 or 4 hrs of non consecutive sleep. (very frustrating when sleep is ALL you want)

When I spoke to my Dr., she said this happens because the placenta has not yet formed and progesterone is being pumped through the body like crazy. Progesterone, she said, not only makes you feel sleepy but keeps you awake. Rude. She said by the second trimester the extreme exhaustion will hopefully fade once the placenta can take charge. Although the answer didn't help, I did like knowing that I wasn't making this up and that there was a potential end in site. My Dr. also said I could take 1/2 a unisom and see if that helped. I tried it once and it didn't really help so I stopped.

Agree with PP about trying to get some exercise in. Even if it's doing some stretching or walking around the house. I've been tired pretty much since I found out. Water, movement, and protein help.
