Just wondering if anyone has had problems with a bad headache and stomach issues on letrazole. I don't remember this from the last cycle so maybe I have a virus. Just wanted to see if it could be related. Thanks!
My first IUI with letrozole I had no headaches. My second cycle on the same dose I had horrible headaches that lasted the entire time I was taking it, plus a few days later because it has a long half-life.
Yes! I think as you go own taking it side effects become worse. My first cycle on it I was fine but my second cycle I had nausea daily and bad headaches everyday. I stopped after my second cycle due to the side effects. Good luck!

I am just curious what letrezole is. I see many of you taking that. I am doing iui as well and I don't take that. I am just curious to learn what else is our there. Is that a shot to help grow follicles? How often do you take it? I take bravelle but only on day 9 and again if needed before the iui. The only side effect i had is crying for a day. But that only happened the first cycle.
I started with 2.5 mg last cycle and needed a boost of 5 mg because my follicles were slow to grow and don't remember the side effects. Makes sense that they get worse each cycle. Now I'm on 5 mg and have had a headache the whole time! Two more nights left of taking it this cycle. Glad to know this is a fairly common symptom but I will definitely be talking to my RE about it because the headache is so intense! @Karenb676 I take letrazole on cycle day 3-7. It is similar to clomid. Followed by a trigger shot once the follicles are mature.
Thank you @mrspotatohead91 for explaining that for me. I didn't realize there was another drug out there like clomid. Now I can get a better feel for what people are talking about here.
I have taken only Letrozole never Clomid but have had horrid headaches, trouble sleeping, and quite a bit of stomach issues. It's all normal!

I've taken 2 rounds of letrozole and had different side effects with each round. First round was 2.5mg. I had a headache and horrible bone aches. The only way I could describe it was like growing pains. I was very uncomfortable no matter what I did. The second round was 5mg and my only real side effect was the headaches. Both times the side effects started about a day or 2 in and lasted about 2 days after I was done taking it. I hope you are feeling better soon!
I think everyone else has already commented, but just one more from a "letrozole taker." I did have headaches too and trouble sleeping. Also, not sure if this is from the meds, but my right thigh would get numb at night, only while sleeping. This has happened SEVERAL times, it is so weird! Never noticed this until I started taking Letrozole.
@karenb676 Letrozole is also known as Femera. It's actually a drug they use for breast cancer, from the research I've done, but for infertility purposes, it helps to grow more mature follies.

Letrozole is a "newer" med for infertility. It is supposed to have less SE than clomid, specifically it doesn't thin your lining as much. I have also read that it produces better quality eggs than Clomid.
