I'm 38 years old, and this is my first pregnancy.  After trying for over 2 years, I received my first positive test in early December.  I had seen over 24 negative tests, so when I saw the positive, I just sat there dumbfounded thinking, "Two lines... wait. What does two lines mean again?"

DH is 37, and this will be his first child, too. Our little nugget is due Aug 11.  This weekend we shoot our pregnancy announcement, and I'm just over the moon.  At the same time, I'm starting to do all the older-mom things like worry about who will sign the time sheets of the employees I supervise while I'm out on leave.

    Congratulations! When I saw the positive test I texted a pic of it to my best friend. I didn't believe I was actually seeing what I was seeing. It's a bit crazy to see a different result after seeing the negative ones so many times.

    We're making a movie poster.  White table with a bluish-white background, me and hubby behind the table with only eyes and up visible, both looking side-eyed at the perfect bakery bun in between us.  Across the top of the picture, we'll put in big, red block letters "BUN"  Then "starring His Name and My Name" and at the bottom, "and introducing Baby Lastname"  It should be cute with kind of a Wes Anderson feel to it.

    ME:46 MH:44 DE IVF 2014
    Met with RE 4/11. 2 IUI's BFN. DE best option. Switched clinics to do "shared" program. Had to retake all tests and a mamm that put me behind and then on a DE waiting list for 12 months. Picked a donor!! (10/13/13) Got matched. Estimated transfer in December. After 2.5 years of patiently waiting I will finally cycle....can hardly believe it. DE cycle got cancelled. One of her tests came back positive.  Waiting for another donor. Donor picked!! (1/18/14)

    DE IVF #1 (4/26) BFN  DE FET #1 (6/4) BFP! Beta 1=339 Beta 2=852 Beta 3=9957 EDD 2/22/15!!

    Congrats!!!  Welcome to the boards!

    When I took my test, we actually got it from the dollar store because we thought for sure I couldn't be pregnant.  We didn't want to spend $14 for a test, lol.  When it was positive, my boyfriend said, "It's from the Dollar Store.  Let's get a more expensive test to be sure."  Lol.  I still laugh.

    Congratulations - your announcement sounds fabulous & so cute! I am 38, first pregnancy. I was also surprised, we'd been trying a long time, too.

    We will tell his side of the family in 3 weeks, when I'm 10-11 weeks in. My mom & best friend already know, which is a big comfort.

    Congrats!! I took five tests this time around. Lol. I usually require fertility meds and this is a surprise pregnancy which I never thought in a million years would happen to me!! I usually have a tough time getting pregnant. So I took a test. Could not believe my eyes and took five more. Lol. Needless to say they were all positive.
