So I got my 1-hour glucose results back and sure enough I have GD again!!! What was I thinking, hoping for better results than the last time! I have ALL the risk factors!
Sigh... Sorry to vent. It just really bummed me out.
I have no advice or words of wisdom, since I have not been in your shoes, but I wanted to say that I'm sorry to hear you have GD again - that really sucks!
I had it with this last pregnancy and the one before. I will say I handled it better this last time and my weight gain too better than I did 7 yrs before. I actually think it was a saving grace since I was already overweight. It kept me in check. Of course both times I was only diet controlled. Hang in there.

Had to retake all tests and a mamm that put me behind and then on a DE waiting list for 12 months.
Picked a donor!! (10/13/13) Got matched. Estimated transfer in December. After 2.5 years of patiently waiting I will finally cycle....can hardly believe it. DE cycle got cancelled. One of her tests came back positive. Waiting for another donor. Donor picked!! (1/18/14)

I'm sorry that you have to deal with this again. I just took my glucose test on Friday and I'll admit I'm afraid to get the results, since I've been using sugar as a mood booster.
so you don't even get to have a shot at the 3 hour...you just automatically are GD with the one hour? Was it because your numbers came back really badly or something? I failed the one hour twice before but was sent for a 3 hour each time and passed those without any issues.
Are they even going to do the 3 hour test? I always fail the short test but have passed the long test with flying colors. Same as ceniding. Granted I have to test again, but it saved me from having to poke myself 6 times a day.

@Regan1976 No 3-hour test. I failed it so bad this time around that my result, coupled with my past history of having it when I was pregnant with my DD, means GD for me again.
Oh, that stinks. I hope you don't have to stick yourself as often as they were telling me. All the people I know who are diabetic were like, "What! That's nuts." I hope it just means giving up a cookie or two and not a whole revamp of your fridge.

@Regan1976 Yeah, it's pretty sucky. But the glucometers have gotten better and I only had to stick myself four times a day last time around. (Don't know this time because I need to attend a workshop. Ha.) In the meantime, it's a revamp of everything I like to eat, but it's not too bad. The good news is this pregnancy has me completely disgusted by ice cream and chocolate. Weird since I love that stuff under normal circumstances!

Do you know if you're having a boy? during my two boy pregnancies, sweets did me in, especially ice cream.
