Hello lovely ladies of the 2nd tri! This will be my last check in as I will hit 28 weeks on Saturday! A huge thank you going out to @sunshinedaisies000 for volunteering to take over the check in!

I am 27w4d today! I had an OB visit with a growth scan today and baby is looking good in the 67%. Hopefully we can keep the percentage from creeping up to much more! Zantac has been a miracle for my heartburn!

I just got a phone call about the furniture we ordered for A......The factory that it was coming from had a flood and now it's not expected to be delivered until mid February

but we were given free home delivery and assembly, so YAY for that!

QOTW: I live 30 minutes from where I grew up. We discuss moving, not serioiusly, and only because of his crazy family! We both love Colorado, but I don't think we will ever move that far.

@AMShark‌ I'm still sending good mojo your way. I'm glad your rookie seems nice, but hopefully her stay is short

AFM- we had our a/s today and our appt with the mfm! The babies look great and are measuring a little ahead, which is good. I've stopped actively bleeding, but have been warned that it could resume at any time (or hopefully not happen again). With the way the placenta is lying neither my mfm or ob think it's going to move, so between the complete previa, bleeding, and PIH I'm officially on modified bed rest at home for the rest of the pregnancy.

QOTW- I live about a hour from where I grew up, and would never want to live there. Not that it's a bad place, but my parents moved away two years ago so there's nothing left there for me. If we could move anywhere, it would probably be to Charlotte,NC. It's warmer (currently live in OH), close enough to the beach without being too close, and we have family there.

And @AMShark keep them hopes high.

Nothing for me for weeks now. No appointments or anything just get to ... be pregnant? Seems so odd after going to the doctor so much to get pregnant and now that I am the appointments seem so far apart. JP is great and starting to move some more. I regained my nose again! Back on that one nose spray and the gunk is all but gone. Ahhh, sleeping can reoccur.

QOTW: I live 30 minutes from my Mom, don't know that I ever considered the area home though. We talk about moving all the time as we live in a not so nice part of Baltimore. We're fixing up the house in hope that the property values go back up to what we owe so we can skeedaddle on out of there. We are out by the time JP is 2 no matter what, it's agreed upon.

We found out a couple days ago at our gender reveal that we are having a BOY!!! We are so excited! I had been picturing baby as a boy even though some old wives tales and Chinese chart said girl. Also hit 20 wks today.. Can't believe it!

QOTW: we live about 10 hrs from where I grew up however my parents recently moved 15 min away from us and DHs parents are less than 2 hrs away(where he grew up). I don't see us moving. We love Charlotte.

TEAM BLUE! YAY!

I am thrilled to be 21 weeks. It still does not seem real other than i do feel rolling and flutters. she is amazing!!

*One More Week until my follow up dr appt re: my short cervix. I've been trying to stay super hopeful and positive. ---Despite being upset at my body for a few days. ..Still, Hoping everything is the same and not worse. Just praying she stays put and healthy. I've been a couch potato at home but my job does require activity from time to time so that makes me nervous.

(also, having selfish concerns like what would i do on bed rest for 19 weeks? & about the shower if i get put on bed rest? Missing out on all the nursery, a babymoon, maternity bump pics, so many things... but ultimately all that matters is my little Gigi!)

* I live FAR from my childhood home, maybe 18 hours drive. We discuss homeschooling and travel. Maybe like Moving to the Pacific NW. or a small college town...we live in an urban planned community so we would want to get out of the rat race. & maybe try out the country life.

@jessimi06 - Glad to hear the bleeding has stopped. FX that it doesn't start again. I'm pulling for my sock buddy/twin mommy buddy/bed rest buddy and praying for the best.

I'm 25w0d today. Hooray for another week in the books. Things have been quiet and stable. I had a very small amount of pink spotting earlier today, but so far, its an isolated incident.

My MFM had previously told us that we need to consider what we would want to do if there was a situation where Baby A was in distress, and an early delivery could mean doing all we could to help Baby A, but would put Baby B at higher risk (due to premature birth - - or holding off on the delivery would give baby B more time to develop and a better shot at a healthy birth, but would put Baby A at a higher risk.

I *thought* he was just telling me to discuss this with DH, so that we would have time to think about it before we are faced with an emergency decision. I thought he also wanted us to acknowledge that this was a possibility. But, this morning, when the on staff OB came by to talk to me, she told me that want my answer on file now, so they know how to react if something happens. I asked for more time, because I wanted to have another discussion with DH. We talked today on the phone, but I don't know that we know our answer for sure. I think there are so many variables - what week is this happening? what is the cause of the distress? what other factors may contribute to the health or harm of either baby?

I guess there's not much more delaying we can do. I asked if we could speak with the NICU again, just so we can have a better understanding of the possible complications we'd be facing. (But our last consult was very centered around the fact that so much is unknown - I don't know if it will help).

QOTW: We live in the town where DH grew up. His parents and most of his siblings live in the same town - save one brother who is 15 minutes away. I grew up just one town over in the other direction, so we're about 15 minutes from my parents and 5 minutes from his. My siblings are a little more scattered up & down the Eastern seaboard, but most are within a 2 hour drive.

I'm not really sure how we ended up here. We didn't know each other when we were younger, and we both have miserable commutes. DH travels almost 2 hrs each way to mid-town Manhattan on a daily basis. And I get to drive about an hour each way to a more north and west region of NJ than I'd like... but I don't see us moving any time soon. We live in a nice town, with a large yard, great public parks, and a very good school district (I know, because our ridiculous property taxes fund that system & I want my money's worth on that investment, dammit!!!)

@turquoisequeen‌ congrats on team boy!! So exciting. @amshark glad you've hit 25 weeks! That is a super tough choice to have to make without knowing so many variables. @jessimi06‌ sorry to hear about the prolonged bed rest! Hopefully knowing that you are doing what you have to do to keep your babies safe will help you get through it! @hbanana18‌ good luck Monday, I have my A/S Monday too! Will you be finding out gender? AFM - 19 weeks tomorrow! We have an appt Fri with our OB and A/S Monday. Two drs have guessed girl but I'm waiting for the A/S scan to confirm before I go crazy with excitement lol. I've been feeling baby move A LOT! It's awesome, last night a couple kicks made me jump! I'm having some left hip pain now when sleeping on my side...doesn't matter which side. I have a snoogle but it seems huge and annoying, however I guess I need to give in and try it out! QOTW: both DH and I live about 10 mins from where we grew up and all our family pretty much lives within 15 minutes of each other which is nice. I would love to move south for warmer weather but I just don't think we will ever leave our family!

@AMShark‌ - yeah! 25 weeks!! So sorry you are faced with such tough decisions. I can't imagine being in your shoes and I admire your strength.

AFM- 20w3d and our anatomy scan went well today. The boys are measuring a bit ahead and both at 13oz. I have to go back and do another scan for their hearts, but there wasn't anything to worry about- the tech just couldn't get good pictures. I go back in 2 weeks for another cervix check and my doctor told me no more evening cookies

my weight isn't terrible, but I think he is being proactive since I am at higher risk for GD. Also, I have to take my BP at home twice a week because I am very high risk for pre-e. All in all, though, things are good. Keeping my eyes on the next goal of 24 weeks!

ETA I forgot to include how far along I am!

I am 18 weeks 5 days today. I had my first appointment with the MFM doctor and I feel like I got so much information from him. Baby girl's placenta moved up, so I no longer have placenta previa, yay! I also found out that my blood type is O negative and I will need to get a shot at 28 weeks and right after birth because at least one of the babies has a positive blood type. He also prescribed me extra folic acid and baby aspirin. My A/S is this Friday.

@AMShark are you able to change your answer later? Or could you say that weeks 25-X you'd have a certain answer, but after that the answer would be ___? They make it sounds so final, which is not cool!

I have my glucose test tomorrow, but not much else going on. I haven't had ice cream in 3 days to prep my body into hopefully passing....it's torture!

QOTW: I'm about 3.5 hours away from Houston, where I grew up. I go back about 2-3 times a year (although that will change soon) since my parents and a few HS friends are still there. I don't mind it, but DH wouldn't want to move there. He grew up 45 minutes away from here and would like to move somewhere brand new at some point. I'd love to move to Denver.

Hey there @AMShark‌ I'm an nj lady too :-h I'm sorry about that decision but those little muffins are still baking so positive thoughts and prayers that the decision stays put in that file and is never needed

And me: 24 weeks! I had my on appt and (hm I dunno if I posted on here) but we had quite a little scare on Friday, I was very wet and what I thought was water was dripping down my leg L&D drs tested and they said it wasn't amniotic fluid but to bump up my appt from wed to mon so I did and it appears it was a bacterial imbalance prob from antibiotics from when I had a cold so now I'm on meds for that. In less disgusting news baby boy is kicking like crazy (with nothing to compare it to I had no idea until we saw the dr and as he was getting his heart rate he made a comment haha)

I love about 40 mins from where I grew up, I never went to school in the town where I lived so I have friends scattered all over but now that baby is coming I do wish I lived a little closer to my parents (never thought I'd say that) but it's the perfect amount of distance when we want it. We talk about moving frequently when I start my grown up job but we love the county we're in so we're sticking in the area.

@AMShark - I'm sorry. It seems like it's impossible to give guidelines for that sort of thing when there are so many permutations. I hope you and your doctors never, ever are faced with this in actuality.

@kmc84 - Congrats on making it to the third tri and thanks for being such an awesome check-in leader! See you soon. ;-)

AFM, 26+6 today, which means this is my penultimate check-in here, following kmc84's lead. We've been practicing for a baby with a very sad pup--Duke injured himself (fragile greyhounds!) and spent almost 24 solid hours pacing and whimpering, unable to get comfortable enough to go to sleep, despite meds from the vet. DH was busy with work, so I stayed with Duke and it was awful. I also depressed myself by reading a lot of the drama here on TB. All in all, a rough couple of days.

We are making our third attempt to meet with our doula tonight. FX it actually happens! GTT and next appt is one week from today. I forgot to ask my new midwives last week if I'll get another scan this pregnancy, although I suspect the answer is no, which is a bummer.

QOTW: I live 12 hours and several states from where I grew up, which is Chattanooga TN. I have a lot of affection for my hometown, but I'm not sure I could live there again. I was a wild child in HS, so there are a lot of skeletons rattling around down there. We do not love where we live now (bad cultural and geographic fit for us), but my job isn't the most movable--I'm tied to living in places with universities that have a specific academic dept that most don't have. We'd love to live in real New England, where both our families now live, so we're hoping to move there within ten years. Problem is that I love where I work now, so I don't want to leave.

@gsancho - It's not set in stone. We can always change our minds on the decision regarding steps to take to help each baby. I think they want it on record, in case something happens where I can't respond, and they can't contact DH.

@stephaniesee - I wish people understood that the NJ on reality tv is very different than the NJ that most residents know and love. But then again, as the most densely populated state in the union, maybe its better to let everyone think its a cesspool, so our population doesn't continue to rise until every farm in my home town becomes a subdivision.

@pblge - Sorry to hear about Duke. I hope he makes a full recovery.

@kmc84 - I can't believe I forgot to say it before, but THANK YOU! We'll miss you here - but I hope to follow you to 3rd tri in the not so distant future.

@AMShark what a difficult decision to make!!!! I'll keep you in my thoughts, and remember there is no wrong decision! You're mommy now, and although you may not feel this way, you know what is best for those precious babes of yours! Look how far you have made it with everything you've been through!!

@GSancho how freaking scary but glad it is handled!! I have my glucose test first week of Feb. I feel like my ob has me doing it later than most people?

24w2d here!! Nothing new other than I can finally feel baby girl REGULARLY. And she is definitely a partier at night so that should be fun!! Everything seems to be getting bigger...and I'm adjusting accordingly. I am typically on the smaller side of things, so with everything growing it's somewhat bittersweet!

I had a Kindergarten student remind me yesterday that she knew I was going to have a baby because I don't usually have a belly like that! I needed that precious little reminder..haha!

QOTW: We live NEXT DOOR to my in-laws/DH childhood home. Which puts us about an hour out from my childhood home. I would LOVE to move, but it won't happen in the near future. We live in a great district and it's only 20 minutes from my job!!

@pblge & @amshark - I am not thrilled to be the "universal donor" at all. I have never donated blood, but I have had it taken for blood tests. I get light-headed and have blacked out from them taking just a few vials of blood. I have no confidence that I could donate almost a pint of blood without blacking out, which makes me feel guilty that I have O negative. Can I have some common blood type so there isn't as much pressure to donate? lol

@sugar4bri‌ I finally broke down and started taking Zantac 150mg every morning-it's unbelievable how much better I feel! I was trying to tough it out with Tums also.

Had an OB appt and a third doctor said girl so I think it's safe to say it's a girl!!!! We are SOOOO excited!

I highly think the only reason I didn't have any real bad battles with nausea is because I was already on an acid blocker for the metformin which can mess up your stomach and GI tract bad.

Hey Ladies,

Sorry to be so late! It was a crazy week on The Bump and at my job!

First, thanks for doing a wonderful check-in @kmc84--and good luck in third tri! And second, still sending positive thoughts to all the pregnant ladies here who need them!

23 weeks/1 day with a Baby Boy here. We had our follow-up A/S this week to get Bean's profile, nose, and lips (Bean wasn't fully cooperating during our original A/S!)--everything looks great!

And it also seems like I'm getting my GD test late (almost 27 weeks), especially considering my father has Type II. I've historically had low blood glucose, though, so I guess I'm still considered low risk--or maybe 27 weeks isn't that late. In other news, I still need to take unisom and B6 for nausea/vomiting, wah!

QOTW: DH and I still live where we went to grad school, but we're moving to my hometown in June to be close to my parents and for work. We'll miss our current city a lot! It's smaller and cozier than my hometown city….
