Hello!
My husband and I have discussed TTC #1, and agree on June of this year. I have a BBT and TCOYF being shipped (Yay for Amazon Prime!). In the meantime, I've downloaded the ebook "Charting Your Way to Conception" by fertilityfriend.com. I'm planning on stopping my BCP at the end of this pack so I can start tracking. I don't generally have a visit from AF at all while I'm on BC, so I thought these few months off might help my body get back into a natural swing of things. I do understand that you should start charting from the first day of your period. However, since I am not likely to get one for at least a month after stopping BC should I start tempting/charting from my first BC free day? Or wait that month? I'm not able to find much for an answer, so I'd appreciate any advice you have.
I understand that this isn't the best time for an intro with all the changes on these forums, but I enjoyed speaking with others over at TK, and was hoping I could find that here too. None of my friends are TTC or expecting right now, so I would love to gain any insight I can from here.
Thanks!
Re: Introduction
I had regular (ish) cycles while on BC and once I had it removed (Mirena) my period started within just a few days. I'm not sure, but maybe stopping your pills will promt a period? If not, I would think you could still start temping as soon as you quit your pack. Not only will this help establish the habit but it is possible to ovulate without getting a period.
Have you considered also using OPKs or checking CM? They're only secondary signs and only temping can confirm ovulation but you might find it helpful. Once I get a positive OPK I start ED sex to try to hit as many days in my FW as possible.
Remember that it could take your body a few months to regulate after coming off of BC. Good luck!
