Late Term and Child Loss

Intro

I've just discovered this board and am so thankful to find it. I'm 25 DH is 29. We've been TTC since August 2014. I got a BFP on December 21. On December 30 my HCG count was only 20.

The worst part is when people say that the baby must not have been perfect, otherwise it would have gone to term. I know it was early, but I loved that baby with all my heart. It was perfect to me.

Does it ever get better?

  • I'm sorry for your loss.

This board is intended for women who have gone through late term loss, stillbirth or infant loss. You'll likely find more women who can relate to your situation on the miscarriage board.

  • Thank you for being so kind. I'm pretty new on here, so I'll have to search for that forum.
  • I'm sorry for your loss. People in general don't know what to say - and I'm sorry anyone made you feel as though your baby was less than perfect. ((Hugs)).

DS1 born 6/5/10 at 40 weeks via emergency c-section due to fetal distress and IUGR caused by placental insufficiency
DS2 born still 8/28/13 at 32 weeks via emergency c-section due to a complete placental abruption - cause unknown
Baby #3 on the way, EDD 2/29/16.  Originally twins, but we said goodbye to Baby B at 8 weeks.
  • I'm sorry for your loss. What a terrible rationalization for a mc or any loss. As @stefuge‌ said, ppl don't realize how inappropriate their comments can be.

As @Mel&John2013 said, the miscarriage board will be able to answer more of your questions than we can, but I agree that there is no such thing as an imperfect baby! As mother's we love them long before they arrive.
I hope you find the board best for you so that you can get the support you need during this difficult time.
