Products that changed your life//Bikini Genie

I have to share this because it has forever changed my life...I sound like a sales person for it but I bought it at the drug store. I used to always get Brazilian waxes. I honestly can't stand the pain of it anymore (probably because I'm pregnant), it costs about $50 plus tip each time and it's time consuming. I don't shave because that seems like a great way to get ingrown hairs and it seems painful (itchy) and I don't want to get cut down there. At the drug store the other day I found this buzz-cutter thing (for lack of a better description) from Philips called the "Bikini Genie". OMG...best thing ever. I'm never ever getting a Brazilian again. I want to shout about it from the rooftops. DH approves as well. :)

Thought I'd share because I wish I'd known about it sooner!

Any products you love/can't live without/wish you'd have known about sooner?

  • The DH desperately wants me to do another Brazilian, but I am annoyed that there is so much pain to have something that is so much more comfortable and so short term. I'll have to suggest this to him and maybe I'll get a random present mid-week...

Thong panty liners b/c I hate granny panties and (since having kids) I hate tampons.

When I would get them in the past I would use Emla cream to numb the area first.
  • My Keurig!! I'm about 3 years late with this product, but I can't live without it now.

I <3 my diva cup. I don't talk about menstruation related things, but I actually recommended it to my work-wife.
Agree with this, only I use the MeLuna.  I didn't like the Diva Cup but the MeLuna is life changing, or at least period changing.

  • Wow cups.  I don't know why, but I love them.  I think it's that they are flat and don't have a spout, so developmentally, are a step up.  I am not ready for full time open cups so when DS wants to wander with water, game on.

Ugg slippers.  I totally wear them as shoes.  And slippers.  And never have to be concerned if I leave the house in my slippers.

American Eagle super stretchy skinny jeans.  I would almost accuse them of vanity sizing, but I think it's really that these jeans are so stretchy they compress your problem areas.  I was spending $100/pair on other brands, but prefer these.

  • @2chatter DH got me UGH slippers for Christmas.  I so want to love them but they are tight.  He got the same size as my boots.  My friend said to wear them and they will stretch.  She said she exchanged hers and regrets it because hers are not too big.  I wish they came in half sizes.  Were your slippers tight at first?

  • @snicksnack they are looser now than when I first got them...Mine were not super tight and now border on too loose.

  • I am going to check out those jeans.

I can't think of anything I use daily, but I love my immersion blender.  I can make baby food from regular food in about 30 seconds, including clean-up.  And anytime a recipe calls for me to "blend in small batches," I give a little inward cheer that I don't have to do that.

  • Ladies. My hair dryer started emitting sparks tonight when I was using it. It's a Vidal Sassoon dryer that I've had for TWENTY YEARS. seriously. I got it in high school. I might cry if I have to get rid of it.

(Obv this comment is of no help to anyone else. Just lamenting the loss of an amazing product)

  • I do laser, did 4 sessions so far and it's working wonders (apparently the lighter your skin and darker your hair the better the results, hit the jackpot on that one) I think I only need a few more of those things and I will go hair free soon? it is a much more expensive solution but for the softness and "permanent" effect- as permanent as it gets- I love it.

I do have to say though I pretty much go hairless overall after multiple hair removal treatments, been waxing since I was a teen and I pretty much don't have hair on my arms anymore (my mom's genes <3
