Thanks ladies! I feel like everyone who was pregnant around the same time as me is bouncing back much more gracefully than I am. And I agree, breastfeeding makes me so hungry that I'm apparently canceling out any weight loss effects it might have. I've heard the same that the weight comes off around 3-6 months, but we're at 4 months today and it is not happening.
My period came back for the first time 10 days ago and since then I lost the first pound I've lost since the first month. So I'm thinking its a hormone thing and I'm hoping this is that magical 3-6 month time people are referring to in previous posts.
I've heard you spent 9 months putting it on so it takes at least 9 months to get it off! If not longer. I started dropping weight quick in the beginning and now I have stalled. I have not time to exercise and when I tried tracking calories my supply dipped even with eating 2000 calories a day. So I gave that up too. I've just accepted I can't really do anything diet related until I stop breastfeeding, and I'm hoping to go a year with that.

I dropped a bunch right after she was born because I had so much swelling, but have gained 10 lbs back. I've made repeated attempts to get back on WW, but it always fails because EPing makes me hungry all the time.
ok, jokes about jiggly puff aside, you're certainly not the only one with the extra fluff.
my personal goal this year, besides actually losing the weight if possible, is to be happier in my own skin. i like to remind myself that i grew a human! and that human is amazing! and that my body is also amazing. i might have a zillion stretchmarks and a lot of extra on the waist, plus a cool new scar, but as my husband likes to say - "look what you made as an end result!"

I have always maintained my weight during pregnancy and then gained all the weight after the kids were born. This one was the worst. I was doing so well before pregnancy going to the gym and was feeling great and then after 4-5 months I had to stop because it felt like he was going to fall out. I just switched gyms and went to my first zumba class yesterday. Wtf was I thinking?? I hurt!! 5:15am is going to come early tomorrow, but I'll be there.
I am not making drastic changes to my diet in fear of it affecting bf so the only real reason I have to hit the gym is because of knee weakness and my need to have constant resistance training to keep me out of chronic pain. I'll tackle the diet issue after I'm done bf.
I lost a bunch magically the first week. Then I plateaued. Then some of it came back. BFing makes me crave all the chocolate
I'm also coming to terms with the fact that even if I do lose all the weight, my jeans will never fit the same way again. My hips are wider now, even without the extra padding they currently carry.
Chocolate!! That's all I want anymore!! I never use to eat very many sweets but now it's chocolate all the time!! Candy, cookies, ice cream!! Ugh, I'll never loose weight!
Everything I've lost, I lost in the first three weeks. I just started back to work so I hope the fact I'm no longer snacking all day will help. I'm also starting Tracy Anderson's Metamorphosis tonight. I'm nervous and excited. I just don't have time to get to the gym anymore so I've got to figure out this whole working out at home thing.
Anybody else have the c-section "pouch"? I'm petrified that will never go away. On top of that my belly is still numb. There have been a couple of times when I picked up lo and my shirt pulled up and I didn't notice till someone pointed it out.
Only 14 lbs lighter than I was on delivery day. And I delivered an 8 lb baby EBF and going to the gym 3-4x/week. Can't fit in my clothes....it's pretty depressing but I refuse to drop a bunch of money on bigger clothes when I do NOT intend to stay this size so I'm still wearing maternity pants daily....

This. I am pretty close to pre-pregnancy weight but it is distributed differently now, so none of my jeans fit I am also living in the one pair of maternity jeans that I have (I mostly bought maternity shorts which was great in the summer but I am kicking myself for that now!), yoga pants, and scrubs.

I was actually going to start a thread about this. I've never had much of a sweet tooth, even during pregnancy, but since the birth I've had the worst chocolate habit and it's only getting worse. I'm embarrassed to say how much chocolate I've eaten this week and it's only Wednesday.
Gah I happily dropped a metro load after delivery (but the extreme swelling was that culprit) and was down 20 from prepregnancy.. then I got the depo, my first period, and stopped BFing and became his hungry BEAST... so I've gained back 15 pounds... so I'm stopping depo shot and starting to be more careful about how I eat.. but I swear I have no idea why I am always so hungry like the wolf.
I dropped most of the baby weight in the first month, but have only dropped a few more pounds since then. I'm hoping once I stop BF the rest will come off. It would also probably help if I stopped making then consuming all the brownies. I don't see that happening though
I dropped a pretty decent chunk of the baby weight but that number does not correspond with my shape. I'm definitely more fluffy than I've ever been pre preggo at this weight. My love handles keep telling me not to eat chocolate but I don't listen.

Check and check. My tummy slack folds down over the scar, and right above the scar is still numb. I think I read somewhere that the feeling may never come back, if they severed the nerves? Creepy to think about and creepy to poke and not feel it.
Re: Feeling Fluffy
But I have heard the magic time of weight loss is between 3-6 months. So perhaps there's still hope!
