I agree with the no months thing... honestly, I stop after 12. Once my kids are 1, they're 1 until they're 1 and a half... and then 2... and so on.
My UO - I think the Mamaroo things are weird and creepy and they make me sea sick. I just can't get my head around spending a bajillion dollars on something like that.
@mandi195 yea personally I do not like them at all and the price just makes it worse. Not trying to knock anyone that has one, because some people swear by them, but we tried it out at BRU and its just NMS at all. I didn't like it for a few reasons, one being that if it is turned off then it does not move at all! We wanted one that we would be able to rock and swing our self if it turned off. I don't like the way it looks at all either. It makes me think that im about to send my baby into space or something. I am all about new "modern" technology but I will take my 40$ 3 year old swing I bought off of Craigslist over even getting a brand new one of these for free anyday!

One day, my H came home and very puzzled, asked me when people stop referring to their kids age in Months. This was before we had a baby. A guy my H was talking to, told him that his kid was 34 months old...
I usually say "he turned 1 in November" or "he'll be 2 in November" or he's 2 and a half.
drudolph11 exactly. I have a friend who swears by her mamaroo, and that's awesome for her, but I just can't. They look like space alien pods to me, move weird, and I'm just not a fan. I'll be using a hand me down RNP and the swing I used with my son when he was a baby (he's now 8).
My UO is that I don't mind at all on people commenting on the size of my bump or asking me questions that I've read many on this board think are annoying. I actually like it when someone asks about my pregnancy, how I'm feeling, if we know whether the baby is a boy or girl or says something about my stomach. I'm excited and never bring it up unsolicited, but I like to talk about it
There is always the exception to the rule, but I think that generally people are trying to be polite and show interest in something that is an exciting time in a mom's life. I also think that there are only a limited number of questions that come to people's minds so while it is somewhat repetitive, people are trying to be nice. My view could be colored by the fact that I've not really had any rude comments yet.
My UO is young adults/teenagers (between 15 and 21) that don't do shit with their lives and believe that the world owes them everything. If you want something, then GO WORK FOR IT. It's not that difficult of a concept to grasp. My stupid ass brother is that way. He's 21, still lives at home with no timeline of when he will be moving out, can't hold down a job, blows any paycheck that he does get, doesn't do jack shit around the house ever, and yet still expects my parents to take care of him like he is this incapable 5 yr old. I think a 5 yr old would probably do more than he does on a regular basis. For gods sake. I don't understand the youth of today.

This is not UO. Or at least I hope most would agree.
My UO is that I'm super stoked about all of the changes happening here and I totally support everything that is being done and the methods being used.
Mine today is when I make dinner and you (DH) doesn't "like it" because he is picky as hell.. You should shut up and eat it anyways, when you don't the kids see that at the table and decide,"uh this is new and dads not eating it so I won't" could have kicked him. I made old bay chicken wings, teriyaki noodles and a veggie. DH only put 2 wings on his plate, took a bite and was done..... Seriously you cook then!
Ahhh this all the time!! ^^
My husband is like an incapable child when in the kitchen but thinks its perfectly ok to criticise what i cook, think if i tell him to cook for himself if he doesn't like it he will just not eat anything until i get annoyed and end up cooking what he likes again ( mainly oven food and the occasional broccoli or carrot) so annoying!!!!
I spent the bajilllion dollars (or $200 on sale....) on the "weird, creepy, space pod" mamaroo, and it's gorgeous and doesn't look like fisher price threw up in my living room.

@drudolph11 I had this exact conversation with someone just this week. My words were if I refer to my child as 24 months would you slap me, she is 2. 2 years old!

Ya i don't agree with this being a UO considering that i am very close to being in the age bracket that was mentioned and i know of plenty of "adults" who do the same damn thing. The other part of this is that your parents are also the ones who are allowing this behavior to happen and go on. I'm not really quite sure where i was going with my point here other than the fact that i don't feel like you should lump this kind of behavior into a certain age bracket.

Re: UO Thursday
So I started this today because it is very rare that I actually come up with my very own UO but I did this week!
UO: I feel as though there should be a cut off age at which you stop referring to your childs age in terms of months.
For me I feel like I will stop at around 18 months but prob wouldn't side eye someone for up to, but not including, 2 years old.
I heard a lady the other day refer to her child as 25 months old...no! Your child is 2, let it go! lol
I usually say "he turned 1 in November" or "he'll be 2 in November" or he's 2 and a half.
