Aw, you guys are so nice! I didn't realize anyone was thinking of us!
Yes, I had my baby as planned on 1/8 and all went very well. DH and I went to the hospital at 5:30 am for a 7:30 c-section. They took us to our room and got me prepped. The worst part of the whole thing was the IV!!! It took them 3 tries and I got super light-headed and almost passed out, probably from not drinking any water all night. I usually chug water at night when pregnant! Then they took me in and did the spinal, which wasn't bad at all, and got me on the table. They brought in DH and we had that really surreal c-section feeling of, "oh my gosh, baby is still inside, but we're about to meet her any minute!"
Doctors and nurses were chatting and then my doctor said, "Oh, lots of hair! Look at the hair!" and then, a second later, "She's out! Baby is here!" A second after that, she started to cry and so did DH and I. It's such a relief to have her out and know she is really okay. DH then went around the drape to watch her being weighed, tested, etc. They brought her for me to see and then took her again to do more of whatever they do. DH took her to our room and I followed shortly and then got to hold her and feed her.
Lauren Grace was 8 pounds, 14 ounces, and 21 inches long. She has silky black hair, which I am pretty sure will probably fall out. Our other kids now have brown hair. Her blood sugar was a little low initially but came right back up. She's super cute. We came home on Sunday and have been getting used to breastfeeding and trying to get into our new routines. I always think breastfeeding is really hard at first and am still a little sore from the c-section, but generally doing well and getting better every day. She's been sleeping a lot during the day but NOT at night (of course). She's opening her eyes more and more and getting more alert. My parents leave tomorrow--eeek. I'm afraid that's when we plunge into chaos, but DH will be around extra much this week.

The other kids love their little sister so far. My two year old is VERY interested in Lauren and in being "helpful."
I don't know how to do PIP?? I did it from Mobile on Pregnant Over 35 from the hospital, though, so you can see newborn pics there if you'd like!
