Re: Biggest Loser check-in 1/12/15

  • Something I am proud of:

I went to the gym 6 times last week!!  I did a crazy dance class called WERQ, zumba, spinning, group training, and worked out alone.  I'm down 2lbs!!

Something I need to work on:

What I'm putting in my mouth.  Also to stop talking about the negative way I feel about myself in front of my girls.

    My plan:

So my week of just trying to eat better without tracking my points on WW did not go well.  So this week I decided to track points and see where it gets me.  I usually do "modified" weight watchers where alcohol doesn't count (lol) and I think I might need to stop that.  I looked at myself in the mirror at zumba class and I can't believe how much weight I've gained.  It's definitely motivating me to get my act together!  We're going to Florida on Feb 17th for a week and I wan to try to be in better shape by then!

QOTW:  Have you guys ever tried "brownie brittle"?  It's like the crispy edges of brownies put into a sheet and cut up in a bag.  The company I eat is called Shela G's.  IT IS SO GOOD and one huge chunk is only 3 points.  Put some ff cool whip on that sucker and that's an awesome dessert!!

I also find when I take the time to cut up fruit and veggies and put them in snack zip locks bags I do better controlling what I snack on.

  • @frenchteachermama that is awesome! Getting out the door is so hard, but I love group fitness.

    Kid #1 - 09/03/12
    Kid #2 - maybe???
    Diagnosed with Severe Ashermans
Hysteroscopy #10 - scar tissue grew back reblocking my right tube
#11 or IVF with scarring still inside?
1 lone embryo from September 2016 retreival, dx with Trisomy 16, starting fresh

  • 1.  Something you are proud of : I was a beast last week with calorie counting. I tracked everything and didn't make up for exercise calories unless I was actually hungry, unlike my usual - oh, I burned 200 calories, lets have ice cream! I lost 3 lbs last week by only working on calorie counting.
    2.  Something you need to work on : Packing my breakfast and lunch for work is still hit or miss. I am also still working on cutting back on booze and sweets. I at least tracked them last week so I couldn't pretend they were free calories...
    3.  Your plan : This week is improving on last. DH & I planned out our meals for the week and have some quick last minute meals if we have a late night. I have a few crockpot meals planned to help get us fed faster on gym nights.
QOTW:  Share a "tip" that helps you in your get healthy/weight loss journey...could be a food you found or a trick that helps you. Getting DH on board is the best thing for me. If he is conscience of what he is eating it makes meals together easier. It also helps that he wants to work out on nights when I have no motivation. He stuck it out last week and I am hoping with all the meals I have planned for the next 2 weeks he stays on board.

Good for you!  I seriously think half the battle is admitting what you are eating instead of making excuses.  That is so great that you have the support of your DH.

  • You ladies are doing great!!

    Ehm, Istillhaven'tbeentothegym. Cough.

    1. Proud that we still haven't been out to eat and the house is still clean. We are rocking it with leftovers which I count as a health victory because I read that people eat on average 200 more calories in a meal when they eat out. I am also proud that my son destroyed a plate of asparagus last night. We are trying to set a good example for him!

    2. I still need to work on getting to the gym!

    3. Plan- to continue eating at home and not going out. I'd like to add more working out.

QOTW: I am not really following it right now, but I was trying a 3-bite rule that I kept forgetting about, lol. If it wasn't a whole food, I could have 3 bites. It worked great when I remembered! I got a taste of everything I wanted, but filled up on veggies and fruits.
  • 1.  I worked out 4 times last week. I have also been really good about not letting my uncooperative 3.5 suck the motivation out of me.
    2.  I need to work on finding a healthy post work out snack.  I really crave sugar as soon as I get home and carbs, always carbs.  I also need to start tracking what I eat because I haven't started doing that yet.
    3.  Keep on keeping on and start keeping track of what I eat.

QOTW:  I am looking for a 5K to sign up for.  It really helps me to have a concrete goal that I can't back out of.

You are so right.  I can never control myself when I eat out.  I actually said to DH last night that I would love to play a game that if I stay within my weight watchers points all week that we get to eat out for one fatty meal at the restaurant of my choice.  That will give me something to work towards.  Yay for DS eating asparagus!!

Good for you!  I'm looking for a 5K to sign up for too!!  I always crave carbs after working out too.  Have you tried putting PB on a banana?  You can even put a few mini chocolate chips :)

  • I'm around too infrequently these days to really participate, but you all are doing great!  I love the 3-bite rule.  I think I'll try that.

I finally joined a gym (yesterday) and will be going tonight.  Given my and DH's schedules, that's actually a HUGE deal!

We've both been decent about food recently, but really need to cut down on the booze. :(
