Question for DOR ladies/poor responders...

in Success after IF
What do you think made the difference between your successful/unsuccessful (if you had any) IVF cycles?  I had my consult last week to starting thinking about jumping back on the IVF train for a sibling and I want to make sure we do everything possible to make this work the first time.  Any supplements, etc. that you think made a difference?  Protocol?  RE/Lab that made the difference?  Any experiences are greatly appreciated!

    I had success with estrogen priming, CoQ10 for three months beforehand, and a high stim antagonist protocol with a mix of menopur and follistim, plus HCG on days 7,8,9. This was with a new RE with a better lab. Best of luck!

    Have you had your FSH retested recently? Looking at your old numbers,it wasn't bad at all IMO. My info is in my siggy and I never responded well. But my FSH was mid 20s at age 38. Eventually I switched to DE after 4 OE IVF where we only got a total of 7 eggs from 4 ERs and bad quality for all of them. I did "best" on estrogen priming and low stim but never "good" enough. I'd get your labs retested and go from there.

    Well in our case the difference that led to the bfp was DH having sperm. I have yet to have a successful Ivf cycle but I definitely responded a bit better with having taken DHEA and coq10 on round 2. I will be on a different protocol this round (not an antagonist one) and they are adding in growth hormone. Results are TBD. GL

    I had success with long lupron which is not commonly used for DOR. I tried several other protocols with poor results and begged to try something out of the box. It took some tweaking but it eventually worked. I used only lupron for suppression, no bcps. I did high amounts of gonal (550) and tapered it down throughout the cycle. I added in menopur after day 3 (1/2 vial). I also was on CoQ10 (300 mg twice daily) for a long time (a year +) before I cycled. BOL to you!

    Oct 2013=IVF#4-LLP+ICSI &AH, 10/14 (6R, 2M, 2F), 10/17-ET, 1 seven cell & a six cell, BFP at 9dp3dt, 1st beta=56, 2nd beta=52, CP.

    Jan 2014=IVF #5-LLP, Cxld after 6 days of stims due to fast response and lead follicle. 

    March 2014=IVF 5.5-LLP, Lupron 3/10, BL 3/18, 11 days of stims, Trigger 3/29, ER 3/31. 7R, 2M, 2F. ET 4/3. Txfd one 5 cell & one 9 cell. BFP on hpt from 7dp3dt & on. Praise be to God. Beta #1 at 11dp3dt=106, #2 at 13dp3dt=239. First u/s 4/28, measuring on track & heartbeat seen. 5/5-2nd u/s, measuring on track with strong heartbeat. 5/12- 3rd u/s & released from RE. Grow baby grow, we love you! Baby G&T is a BOY! Born 12/2014 via c/s! 8lbs, 8oz & 21 inches.

    @chiwifey, do you know what the dosage on the Acai supplement was?  I've not heard of that until now, but seems worth adding to my repertoire of supplements if it might help...

    @Mrs.McIrish, the last lab numbers in my siggy are from October 2014, so the FSH has gone up, but not appreciably for someone who's 38.  We think the AMH is a lab/nurse error, since most labs can't/don't report numbers that low for AMH...

    My only successful cycle was a long lupron cycle with HGH and immune protocol.  My worst cycles were antagonist with EPP and MDLF.

    As far as numbers, my best cycle would be my last cycle (IVF #6).  We did a luteal phase ganirelix protocol.  I started half doses of ganirelix a few days after I ovulated in one cycle and had a basline to check lining and ovaries before starting stims several weeks later (and at least a week or two after my last bleed).  I then started on high dose stims for two days and then lowered after that.  I added half doses of menopur starting a few days into stims.  I also did HGH and immune protocol.  I had 10 mature eggs retrieved and 8 fertilized.  I transferred to perfect day 3 embryos and got a BFP.  I had one blast make it to their freezing criteria (although all 6 of the remaining embryos made it to day 5).  I hope to transfer the frozen blast as soon as possible but I have problems with my clinics batching requirement as I tend to get cysts (and apparently ovulate) through BCPs and Lupron.

    Good luck!  I did ubiquinol and PQQ before my last cycle.  I intended to do DHEA but it caused my testosterone levels to sky rocket!

    ~SAIF/PAIF/Everyone Welcome~ 

    Me= 37 and DH = 41 

    Dx: DOR, Endo, APA+ (really high beta 2 glycoprotein antibody and high everything else tested), heterozygous MTHFR mutation, positive for lupus anticoagulant, high FSH, low AMH and both tubes blocked (per HSG on 3/8/11)

    IVF #1 - long lupron (with HGH, intralipids, lovenox and BA); 4 retrieved, 3 fertilized; ET 2 blasts and 1 frozen = BFN

    IVF #2 - a version of antagonist with EPP (with HGH, intralipids, lovenox and BA); 6 retrieved, 4 mature, 3 fertilized, 2 blasts and 1 frozen blast transferred on day 5 = BFN.

    IVF #3 April was postponed to May, May was canceled. June/July was canceled. Had a cyst aspiration and then began IVF #3 in August. ER on 8/22; ET on 8/24 with AH. +HPT on 9/5. Beta #1 (11dpo) = 3; Beta #2 (15dpo) = 29; Beta #3 (17dpo) = 60; Beta #4 (19 dpo) = 118. Heartbeat at 6 weeks 6 days =132.  Lil is here!

    TTC#2:  Trigger + TI = BFN; Clomid + Trigger + IUI = BFN.

    IVF #4:  BCP + MDLF + Lovenox = 7R, 1F = Transferred 1 6-cell embryo on day 3 = BFN

    IVF #5:  MDLF + Lovenox = 4R, 1F = Transferred 1 10-cell compacting embryo on day 3 = BFN

    IVF #6:  (New RE):  Long Antagonist November 2014 (transferred two 8 cell grade 1 embryos and froze one blast) = BFN

    FET#1:  BFN

    My 2 successful cycles were two different protocols, but both we added in ICSI.  With DD I was on an EPP protocol and this cycle I was on the MDLF.  In previous cycles, I responded best with the EPP.  Dr. wanted to try the MDLF again with ICSI and it worked.  I also took CoQ10(300mg 2x a day) for 3 months before cycling.
