  The mass banning was over the top and uncalled for.

  But I find all the "24 hours of silence" posts hilarious. You arent silent if you are posting a thread saying you are silent.

  I'm not positive but I think it's in reference to "the bump guidelines" post from the other day. People getting warned or banned or what not. But feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

  I imagine to the obtuse this thread would be challenging, but with a little investigation one could draw conclusions. Many of the details seem to be disappearing, but a good google search and visit to the parenting board may help. You can find this discussed in a few communities outside of this one.

  
  

  It appears a large group of long term members, including mods, have been banned and the banning may be an attempt to block information that was shared in confidentiality and was not supposed to be posted or shared publicly.  The specifics include, that those in power over this community are hoping to expand participation and curb some of the traditional bump bluntness. Some of the mods who had access to this info may have challenged this in posts and found themselves banned.  The new Terms of Use have now been made public.

  
  

  Some posters are in support of their friends who were banned, and some posters do not agree with the new TOU, and are leaving this community for a place that can allow them the freedom to speak openly.

  
  

  There is a saying on the Bump, that is used when a member leaves, "Goodbye Cruel Bump".  There is a place called proboards that often people migrate to when the bump, knot and nest go through these type of upheavals.

  Allegedly, the powers that be want to change the tone of the bump after bad reviews from the ap, so they mass banned long time users including mods. A lot of this was on the parenting board. Then they posted a new TOU, after many of the bannings. Users wanted answers, but were ignored. The boards are imploding and people left in protest and disgust. Banned users requested their threads be deleted, but the bump said no. You can follow the trail to the new place.
